Summer in Limestone Park = activity. Limestone Park in central Ipswich is always a hive of activity during the summer months. Last night there were no less than 7 different outside exercise groups using the large space that is Limestone Park. As well as the groups, there were plenty of people out and about walking with their families and their dogs around the weaving paths around the park. The paths at the top end of the park have light poles, lighting the path so you can safely walk around in the twilight hours. Not only does the walking /running paths of this park attract a lot of activity, so does many of the exercise equipment placed around the pathways for everyone to use and get active. The sporting facilities around the park include, a cricket /AFL field, Softball /cricket batting nets, netball courts and an athletic oval all with in the vicinity of the park. Limestone Park is a beautiful spot to exercise, walk the paths or grab a blanket and lie and people watch or read good book. It is an active park and right in the middle of Ipswich and I highly recommend stopping to take a look, bring the family and have a picnic or BBQ under at the top end of the park on Chermside Rd.
