Tasty, authentic food. Right across the station. Good service as well. Made Jain dish on demand as well.

Really had high expectations for this place and it met what i expected. Enjoyed the food and the prices. The waitress is quite good, but we went in a quiet period. Enjoyed the food so will be going back again.

I came here with really high expectations but left feeling as though I should have gone elsewhere. My friend really hyped it up abduction said it was the best Indian food ever. We ordered 6 dishes, apart from the lamb Rogan josh, I couldn’t differentiate between the better chicken, fish curry, chicken tiki masala or the prawn curry, it all tasted the same as though they use the same paste for everything. Servings were also quite small, all curries are served in the small yum cha bowls you would get at a Chinese restaurant. Nann bread was either too burnt or too oily. Maybe it’s me who doesn’t have the right taste for it, but the time I went it just wasn’t very impressive.

Totally amazing place. If you’re from he inner-city(as we were), it seems like quite a treck, but actually it’s pretty easy. Catch an express train Central-Strathfield, and then walk 1000m. Easy. We went COMPLETELY overboard and ordered 2 entres, 3 curries, 2 naans and four desserts for 4 people. But it still worked out to only $ 25 each. The service was lovely — the staff are down-to-earth and friendly. The owner and chef came out to have a chat because he could tell we hadn’t been there before. He just wanted to say hi, see how we liked the food and find out how we heard about it. The winner of the night was the fish curry. Superb. But everything was great. Go with a bit group so you can taste lots of stuff. Oh, and all four deserts we tried were devine — next time we want to try the last two as well!

Looks can be deceiving at times, that’s the impression I got of thousand spices when I entered. Its a smallish place on the Homebush strip of restaurants. But I didn’t really care about the looks and I was here for the food. So I ordered the usual dishes that I like to try for the mains and for the entrée I tried the ‘Aloo tikki’ — which to my surprise it was exactly as I like it — Spicy, Tangy and sweet — what a combo. the Lacha Parantha which is a kind of bread made in ghee was great — crisp for outside yet soft from inside. The curries were good too. Overall the food was above and beyond my expectation from a place like this. The service was ok, it could do with a little bit of improvement and the ambience could get a bit of a lift too. All in all good value for money, accessible by train.
