Although the the table we had booked was taken when we got there the waitress managed to find is a table Great table service followed Although our drinks were rather watery the steaks were perfect The waitresses were very polite and catered to our needs without any problems Very happy and will definitely be going back

I think I’m the only person who doesn’t LOVE Hogs Breath Café. My family are obsessed with it and dine there whenever they visit me in Adelaide. When I was a kid I enjoyed it because the décor was quirky and very USA-cool. Plus the mash potato was much better and creamier than mum used to make at home. However, now that I’m older and my tastes have evolved, I feel like it is an overpriced restaurant that offers bland steaks, undercooked vegetables and blah menu. I could cook something better at home, or get a nicer steak from the Stag or 50 other places in Adelaide. 2 stars — 1 star for amazing cocktails(fruity ones are so tasty I could drink them all night).1 star for the décor and customer service(something that Hogs Breath does very well) and 1 star for their fish and chips and burger which isn’t bad.

I love Hogs Breath cafes. I’ve dined at them once in a while over the last five years and have always enjoyed the experience. Their style of service is unique to most other places I find. They’re a tad but quirkier and come with a more casual approach. One thing I notice is when doing table service the waiter usually kneels down to be at the same level as the patrons. The waiter will also give the option to brief their patrons on the style of Hogs Breath if being their first time dining. Hogs Breath do amazing steaks. They have a menu devoted to different sizes and styles of steaks to choose. They claim their steaks have been 18 – 24 hour slow cooked, and believe me they’re nothing you’ve tasted before. Yum! Another thing to not go by is their curly fries. A lot of dishes have the option to choose these fries as a side, as well as a serving being on the starters menu. Their standard menu features a lot of different options like seafood choices– smoked salmon dishes and grilled fish etc. A few different salads, schnitzels, a kids section … The options are almost endless.

I’ve been to hogs breath Holden hill, many times before. It’s been enjoyable and I was able to eat my whole meal :) Unfortunately this time around, it was the worst, I hated my meal, I ordered the chicken Caesar salad, the chicken was extremely dry, to the point every time I eat it, I would have to gulp down my ice water. The rest of the party enjoyed their meals, apart from the meat being a little dry. But other then that, they eat every bit. I ended up sending the whole bowl back: l And didn’t get a refund, or replacement meal, which would of been great as I had to get hj’s hungry jacks on the way home !

I hadn’t been to a Hog’s Breath for years before rocking up at a place determined to be the halfway eatery between my several displaced friends. Dining here on a weeknight, the place was pumping(unusual for a suburban café and a promising sign). Greeted at the door by a grinning manager we were promptly introduced to our waitress for the night who took us through the menu and offered her opinion on choices and grabbed us some drinks whilst we deliberated. Meals are rather cheap(unless you’re opting for the steaks and seafood, in which case expect to pay the usual) and the menu is vast and covers all the ranges. There are limited options for vegetarians, but this is a steakhouse, so its to be expected. I had the steak sandwich and was ever so pleased. Particularly with the generous side of curly fries. The bar has a decent range of beer, wines and ciders but could probably do with a bit more South Aussie flavour. Food is nice, atmosphere is suitable for families and I’d recommend for a weekend meal.

Hog’s Breath is like Adelaide’s Hard Rock Café. It has a completely Americana steakhouse feel to it with over the top décor and American number plates everywhere. It is a big hit with kids and families and boasts that it has some of the best steaks around. The waiters are always friendly and explain the steak cooking process to you when you arrive. However, it seems that they are always understaffed and the poor waiters/waitresses seem run off their feet. The food is always delicious, I have to say(especially the curly fries) — but on two occasions our order has been lost and it has taken AGES(read: hours) to fix it. On one occasion, our meal was wrong and cold, but we were so hungry we couldn’t be bothered changing it. I haven’t been back much since, but it is a popular place with big delicious meals and a hit with kids.

I’ve been to a few Hog’s Breath’s — they work well for kids so we’ve done a few with friends and family — this is also my favourite of the lot. Compared to the others the parking is extremely easy, and it’s less crowded(that said, I’ve also been unable to get a booking here some nights, so it DOES get busy). Our most recent trip here was a lunch, to catch up with a friend with two kids too — both boys — colouring in kept all the kids busy, along with an excursion to the video games, and the food, as always was good. Yeah, good. Not spectacular, but good. I’m willing to accept good though, it is what it is, and it’s certainly a lot better than many ‘family’ restaurants I can thing of. I usually end up with a steak, and this was no exception — the slow cooked offering is decent, and something you don’t get everywhere. You do need the curly fries — I think it’d be wrong to visit Hog’s Breath and not have them. :) Staff here are really good — actually into what they’re doing. That’s impressive in itself, and it shows in the service.

I’ve been to the Gouger Street one and it is probably better than this one. But honesty, who can be bothered making their way to the city, let alone the awful job of parking in that area and the busy restaurant itself? So I usually go here, it is very local, only a couple minutes away. It’s much less rowdy than other Hog’s Breaths, and is a nice stand along building with its own parking and same atmosphere and food as every other. I love the décor in Hog’s with an American feel, but it’s a little over the top in cour and the menu is so hard to read, it’s soooo crowded! But the food is pretty tasty, not the best for you, but tasty. Steaks are something they pride themselves on, but not being a steak lover I usually opt for a salad, wrap or burger obviously with their famous Hog’s tail curly fries! And to top it all off their sundae’s are amazing, and they are absolutely massive and you can share them with literally the whole table. With a brownie bottom, icecream, cream, nuts and I can’t even remember what else, make sure you keep room!
