Very impressed with this place, great quality coffee, great breakfasts, excellent options for vegetarians and vegans. They make their own artisan bread on site. This place could easily compete with any good café in Melbourne.

Went here due to the Unilocal reviews. What a mistake! Sat down ordered coffee. Looked at the minimal menu and nothing was inspiring. All modified to make unique but doesn’t work. Took our 2x large coffee and 2 x regular hot choc take away. $ 15.60 !!! Coffee was average and as too the chocolate. Ended up poring it down the drain and going somewhere else. Also street parking is metered. $ 1.40 an hour. Sorry Unilocalers, you got it wrong at this place.

Ate here 2 days in a row, coffee was on point and great small Café atmosphere. On the first day I had the pleasure on indulging in the scrambled eggs and avocado on cornbread with grilled halumie it was amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended not only for the full gluten free menu and plenty of vegan and vegetarian options.

Ate here on a sunny Sunday morning about 9:30am. Creative menu, good coffee. Nice staff and service. Vegetation and vegan. Easy to find and just down the road from Travelodge and Best Western.

I was pretty stoked to see Straight Up finally having pulled down the newspaper that mysteriously covered up their renovations of the last few months and finally open their doors to the world. I’d been keeping tabs on them since first spotting them on this quiet city block, a few doors down from my brow lady… so as soon as I knew doors were open, I scheduled myself in for a solo brunch date. Straight Up are straight up about the fact that there’s no meat on their menu. It’s completely vegetarian and gluten free, including low and no refined sugar desserts. They roast their own gutsy coffee blend in-house(you can take a bag of beans home if you’re overly keen on them) and the best bit is that their service is provided with a smile. The whole menu looks pretty great but my dream item is the scrambled eggs, haloumi, avocado and corn bread. I can’t bring myself to go past it. It’s perfection on a plate and it makes me super happy. Everything about Straight Up makes me smile(including the facts that they’re open seven days a week and they have one all-day menu). Five stars. A wonderful addition to Hobart’s collection.
