Bar Celona Cafe Restaurant

Our food was really good, Pagan cherry cider a delight. Service was good but they were obviously busier than they’d thought they’d be on a Monday night.

This bar remains highly popular with market goers serving tapas style, pizzas and light meals and a wide selection of wines and beers. It is always a busy place.

This place is great, has great gf options, waiters know what is going on and great variety of food. The food was great, from the gf tasting plate to the stir fry and schnitzel, good local wines and beer options, lovely feel inside, good heating on a cold night, although it produces wierd lighting, does have an open fire and could be cranked up a bit more.

Went here for dinner on my lonesome for a work trip, Saturday night in Hobart everything was full so I decided on this place as I could get a seat! I ordered the scotch fillet medium with potato bake along with a side of chips. The steak was very rare, I still ate it however left some, fries were nice although they could do with some more seasoning. The potato bake was yummy too. When I was finished the waiter cleared my table and returned shortly after to advise that my steak would be half price as it was not cooked to the chefs liking. This was a very nice surprise considering I didn’t mention Anything! I ordered the apple custard tart for desert which was nice too. Overall it was a little pricey if I wasn’t on an expense account I probably wouldn’t have dined. Nonetheless it was a decent experience.

While I’d like to say the food was good I didn’t really get the chance to try it. After purchasing a drink inside i was offered the chance to take the menu out to my table and someone would get my order.
After nursing my drink for 45 mins and still without someone coming to me (they certainly walked by me though) I gave up. A shame as what others were eating looked definitely appetising

This bar/​restaurant was different to others that I have been to in the past, there is a large seating area that is mainly high tables with stools, there are smaller, lower tables around the walls of the restaurant but it makes you feel a bit odd having people sitting higher than you either behind you or opposite you.
The dining area is bathed in a red light from heat lights around the walls which also makes for an odd experience, for tourists and foodies the red light makes it hard to take photos of the food and establishment without making it look like some kind of haunted house or side-​show attraction.
Food otherwise was very good and tasty, service was prompt and warming, when we arrived we were greeted quickly and shown to a table, the specials and such rattled off and we were left to make our choices but not before being asked for drinks, always nice.
A nice place and the food was fairly priced for what we got.

Located in Salamanca place this bar has heated outdoor seating which is worth its weight in beer because Hobart can get quite fresh at night.
There is a nice long central bench inside with tables lined up along one edge. They do have a decent menu on offer and offer table service even to the outside tables. The wait is dependent on how busy the place is.
A very impressive range of tassie beers and ciders on offer and a few mainland options and the odd import.
Had a good crowd on the Friday night I went and was difficult to find a sit indoors, the outdoor heating meant you could enjoy your beer without turning into and icicle

In Salamanca Square you will find this popular meeting place. Bar Celona offers seating outside allowing you to enjoy a cool beverage on a hot summer day or warm seating inside for a more cozy atmosphere. The food is creative and delicious but a tad on the pricey side.

A nice Bar and Food location in central salamanca. The food not cheap, but its well worth the price you pay for it. Plus the have a heated outside area which has a great environment on the busy hobart nights.
