Great coffee and service. Smashed Avocado. Large coffee is a LARGE coffee!

I was told by my better half of were gonna get breakfast here; let’s get in early before they become busy. With over 7 different styles of chairs and exposed pipes in the venue I could already see they focussed on their product and looked forward to it with anticipation. A simple venue offering a range of vegan and GF options for clients; they cater to a broader community of breakfast eaters by giving you standard choices and those that you really wish you could eat every day. The staff are complimentary to the atmosphere with a very welcoming vibe and interest in your experience as a client. We ordered and were promptly served out crepes and coffee within a matter of minutes and as expected fresh and tasty. I deduct one star from my rating because the cream would have been better served if whipped slightly and my berries were still cold from the freezer. It could only have improved my experience overall if they were fresh even if that meant reducing the quantity or maybe amusing a homemade compote sauce from the berries. The whipped cream is just a personal grievance. Price is well suited to speed, quality, hospitality and environment. Would recommend highly if you’re in the area.

AVOID! Such a horrible restaurant. I went there for breakfast and ended up bed ridden for 3 days with food poisoning. I’m a Henley Beach local and I’ll never purchase another item from this store. Good luck to you guys during the winter months, because you’ve lost one regular right here.

A lovely establishment at Henley Beach. What better way to finish off your morning beach run by stopping at Swedish Tarts? The food and smoothies are delicious, prices are very affordable and the rice porridge was on point! I highly recommend adding to place to your next brunch date.

I came here at about 7am on a weekday and there was already a bit of a crowd so you can tell it’s popular! I had coffee and a tart following one of many bike rides. The coffee was a delicious soy latte, not burnt or foamy which is always a plus! And the tart was delicious! A van was dropping food off early and I reckon it was freshly baked. The tart was crispy and delicious but not too crispy! It was kind of like a quiche. I will need to go back here to sample more food and extend this review, but I could see in the menu that they offer a vegan big breakfast ! And a number of gluten free options! Yay! I think this place is going to see a lot of business, especially with a few closures around that area. Swedish tarts have also not just relied on their excellent location, they have branched out from standard eggs on toast and offer something a bit different and delicious! Will be back for sure!

Great coffee and breakfast, with menu options for everyone. The fussiest could find something here given they also have vegan and GF options. Very busy most of the time and quite crowded, in that there’s not a great deal of space by the counter or amongst the tables. The front area with it’s prized ocean outlook is small and(typically) first to be taken. I loved the look of the«bowl of coffee». I didn’t sample any of the tarts on display… and my wife may have objected. We sat on some comfy couches that I often avoid because they are generally not clean and was proven right once again(sadly). The previous customer managed to leave behind parts of his/her chocolate cake but not just in one spot, oh no, s/he managed to get those bits on the seat, rear cushion and the bits in between. I cleaned some off my clothing and the rest was going to be up to the Siemens. My mobile came out of my pocket and slid in between the cushions. When I retrieved it by lifting the cushion up, I came across other delights that had been left behind by previous customers, as well as a general helping of dirt and dust from days and months gone. The staff seemed nice but hurried and we didn’t have to wait long despite being busy. Overall it’s a busy thriving welcoming Café with a bit of a negative on hygiene.

Loved it! Great service, great food and awesome atmosphere! Prices are fair considering the variation and amount of food on offer. A fair few Gluten free options also. Love love love. Already recommended to about 10 ppl already! ENJOY!

Good coffee, interesting atmosphere but lousy staff. To say the least, Swedish Tarts personally didnt live up the the high expectations and praise given by my friends. The coffee though is excellent, good barista by the looks of it. The only reason this lovely cousy little café didn’t receive 5 stars is because of the lack of emotions presented by the staff; a warm welcome along with«enjoy your coffee» with a smile would do it, but its like a soulless shell of a human being walking up to you and sticking coffee in your face.

My favourite lunch and breakfast spot! Juices are great, as is the coffee. Food can be hit and miss with quantity, so stick to what you’ve tried and tested to avoid disappointment. Staff are happy to change dishes to suit dietary and taste requirements without a problem. Recommend the haloumi salad and the lemon cheesecake tart!

I stopped in for a bowl of very average pea soup and was planning on staying to do some work, so asked for the wifi password. I asked three separate staff members and got a different wrong answer each time. They were all pretty dismissive each time but seemed busy(although it was a pretty quiet day with plenty of staff on). I then went in and checked again, politely explained that I’d tried all variations and basically got told ‘tough’. Giving it one last try I took my laptop to the counter and asked one of the staff to type it in, which she did with no luck. There was no attempt whatsoever to sort the situation out and she was really dismissive and rude. For such a basic thing she could have at least made me feel as if she was making an effort but I left feeling very frustrated and a little offended. Really poor show from what I expected to be a nice place to spend an afternoon.

Very loud, crammed and a ridiculous wait for coffee. Breakfast had been served and eaten before there was any sign of the coffee, not a good start. We had chilli coriander scrambled eggs, for $ 16 I I expect a bit more than an extremely thin slice of toast, oily eggy muck and poorly presented on the plate. Usually going out for breakfast I leave full, this was not the case here. The girl tried taking my plate before I had even finish as well which added to my frustration. Having been to swedish tarts at semaphore, this left a lot to be desired. Definitely will not be coming back.

I was so impressed with the selection of food this little coffee shop offered. Thinking it would only be sweets I was pleasantly surprised by the array of savory tarts, quiches and salads available as well as their list of smoothies. I find Swedish Tarts very well priced for their quality of food and bubbly friendly service. The scones were amazing! And the salmon quiche served with hollandaise on the side was very enjoyable. Bonus points for location — even at this time of year nothing beats sitting in a warm coffee shop, sipping a dirty chai whilst watching the waves of the ocean! I think this would be a great place for a day-time date!

Yep — still a tart for Swedish Tarts. Soooo good!!! Today my tastebuds had the pleasure of sampling a lime tart. Now, I’m mad for citrus flavoured desserts. And boy oh boy… WOW. wow. WOW!!! Soooo good! Amazing! Oh… so good…

I went to Swedish Tarts for breakfast having never heard of it before. My partner and I were walking around Henley Beach looking for a breakfast spot and it caught my eye as a cute little café among a sea of old and ordinary cafes. From the moment we walked in, there was a great vibe. The staff were lovely and the menu was great. One thing in particular that I love about the menu is that you could go super healthy or super naughty. I had eggs and smoked salmon on toast and a green smoothie and they were both delicious. The food came out promptly which always makes me happy. After being good, I decided to go a little bad and we ordered a coffee and chocolate tart to go — I regret nothing. This cute, quirky little café(that uses table letters instead of numbers) is a must visit if you’re down at Henley Beach.

I really enjoyed my first visit here. Being greeted warmly was a great start. I like the light, atmosphere and great location. All the cakes looked really fresh and the breakfast menu looked varied and interesting. I had freshly squeezed juice of orange, ginger, apple and carrot. You can make up your own combination. It was delicious and not sweet. My friend had poached eggs on toast and it could have benefitted from a bit nicer presentation and also the rye bread looked a bit more like a biscuit than bread. Just a bit plain. But the eggs looked beautifully cooked, with rich yellow yolks. The coffee came with fab coffee art and a friendly smile. We didn’t have to wait long for our order either. On the counter there are self serve jugs to fill from adjacent sink and matching funky, rustic cups. And the best part if one over-indulges on cakes, is being able to walk it off along a stunning beach only a few meters away!

I spent time writing a review that Unilocal then removed so here I am again. I’m not writing all the details again of the good swedish brekky and coffee, friendly service, ambience etc but it’s a lovely place and you should go.
