My partner and I stopped by Coppenhagen on a date night in Henley Beach. The staff were lovely, engaging and efficient and the food was decadent. I ordered the hot cinnamon donuts(always a favourite) and a Bailey’s and Roasted Almond Thickshake. It was to die for. My partner ordered the berry pancakes(I may have had a taste) and an iced coffee. The pancakes were the perfect blend of sweet syrup, refreshing fruits, chilled icecream and scrumptious pancakes. Thr best part is that on different nights they have different deals — anyone feeling indulgent and in the mood for 2 waffles, go on a Tuesday and get one free. Sure the place is a little small, but as the saying goes — good things come in small packages and if you over indulge go for a scenic walk along the Henley Beach foreshore.

The best ice crean and dessert bar. love their changing ice cream flavours. Its a small place but always has a long que for the ice creams the staff is very courteous and friendly. They let you taste all the flavours you want before you order and I always get confusefd with what to order snd what to eat! Love their choco chip, banana fudge and Royal Copenhagen the most. They have sundae cups, cones and scoop cups. They have yummy shakes and fresh OJs! A must when at Henley Beach!

I use to come to this place regularly in summer when I was living in Adelaide. Wow how things have changed and not for the better! The ice cream flavours are boring(probly from a cheaper supplier as they are milky and not rich as they use to be) what happened to forerro rocher?! Apparently it’s been replaced by Nutella! Doesn’t compare, doesnt even come close! We ordered donuts they were the most disgusting donuts I’ve ever had! Looks like they’ve been stepped on and made us all sick! Why you’d put orange peel in the mixture beats me. Apparently the mixture comes that way… With orange peel in it… Talk about going downhill! The staff just stare cluelessly and have no idea what they’re doing, trying to avoid customers by going in the back. Yes you do have to serve when you see customers out front! Maybe try wiping down a table or two??? Upon complaint of the orange peel in our donuts, the chubby girl sitting down who was having her break, was pulling faces… Why you’d decide to put alcohol in an icecream shop doesn’t make sense either especially when you have young girls serving it. For gods sake don’t waste your time people, there are plenty more ice creameries in the area with good selection of flavours, good food, good coffee and most importantly better service!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Food and icecream might be okay but nothing worse watching staff wandering aimlessly around completely clueless on how to multitask. Took over 15 minutes for a small takeaway coffee and by then the kids icecreams were like milkshakes. Thank goodness I bought it in cups and not cones. Will never come back again.

My girlfriend has a sweet-tooth so we visit once if not twice a week. I’d admit that we are somewhat addicted to their crepes. We frequent many dessert cafes but this place has thee most delicious crepes. Unlike other cafes, here they make crepes fresh at order. Another item to get addicted to is the strawberry thick-shake…yummm! Seating is nice, staff is very friendly and waiting period is short. You leave with a smiling and satisfied stomach.

Probably the most popular place at Henley Square, Royal Copenhagen scoops up a mean ice cream and pretty awesome sundae spectacular. Staff are used to a fast paced so the queue always moves quickly and those dining in for some fondue, shared mega sundaes or crepes will find their food and drinks coming out promptly. The dine in menu is varied and I love the shared sundaes where you can eat doughnuts and brownies and other chocolate bits in a massive bowl with a few friends(or yourself if you’re having one of those days). Seating can be stretched so you’ll want to save seats pretty quick smart. I’d recommend the waffles.

Mmm ice-cream. Picture this: it’s a hot summers day and you’re inside a nicely cooled shop eating the creamiest and most delicious ice-cream while others around you are sweating buckets. Sounds good, am I right? The price is a bit of a downfall when it comes to Copenhagen. The ice-cream is absolutely delicious but it’s around $ 6 just for two scoops, and that’s not in a cone! I could buy a litre tub of ice-cream at the local supermarket for less than that. Of course it wouldn’t be nowhere near as nice as the ice-cream at Copenhagen, but that’s besides the point. If you want to treat your kids, or cool down on a hot summers day then Copenhagen is the way to go. There’s a wide variety of ice-cream flavours, sorbets and an incredibly enticing dessert menu which will leave your taste-buds in a frenzy! I personally go to Copenhagen for the ice-cream. Give me a double scoop of Baileys Chocolate Chip and Mint Chocolate Chip and I’m good to go. Maybe I love chocolate chips too much? As if!

Just when I thought I could live without Royal Copenhagen when beaching it at Glenelg this summer, I have just begun a new love affair with its Henley Beach brother. Definitely a much, much better Copenhagen visual. They even have menu’s here, and tables. Yep that’s right, tables! Perhaps it’s just a case of small minds being amused by small things, but the fact that I could sit down at a Royal Copenhagen ice-cream parlour and then have waffles brought out to me, just blew my mind. It even made the already delicious ice-cream taste better. Crazy.

This is the first foray of Royal Copenhagen into a dessert bar rather than just take away ice cream. and it has been done really well. The café itself is tastefully decorated in red and brown tones. I particularly like the upholstered bench seating which is really comfortable. At the back of the shop you can see the staff making waffles, crepes and doughnuts so you know they are fresh. You can find the usual array of quality, Copenhagen ice cream flavours to take away. There is a specific dessert menu with more temptations than you could possibly ever want. The coffee is passable but not great. The toppings bar is the only thing they have got wrong here. If you are seated in the café you have a parade of kids in front of you playing about with the toppings making a noise and a mess. If it is a nice day there is also seating outside in the square which is a good option but it is quite a distance from the café itself.
