Valentine On George

If you are looking for a Marriott, go somewhere else. However if you are looking for a quaint, somewhat bohemian hangout with ultra friendly and helpful staff, this is the place.
First impression is not great as the entrance is narrow and nondescript. Once into the room, though, you are in this roomy albeit narrow abode with nice souchi shades that make the room bright yet private. Not exactly luxurious but all the amenities you need are there.
The fact that it is within walking distance to everything you need is a great plus.
The only negative is that it is next door to a great Thai restaurant and you can smell the cooking in the lobby though we did not smell anything in the room.
All in all, this is some place I would stay again.

This small, boutique hotel will make you wish this was your new home and you won’t want to leave after living the high life in this designer apartment.
Unlike most ritzy hotels in the city like Sheraton on the Park, the Hyde Park Inn or the Westin, the great thing about Valentines on George is that its understated. Its small and hidden, but once you’re inside you really feel like you’re somewhere else, like a chic studio in New York City.
The design of the rooms are fantastic, little details like the cove lighting in the back tiled bathrooms make you feel like you’re in a film clip, even the choice of fittings and appliances in the rooms, like Bang and Olufsen tvs and phones make you know this is not just your ordinary hotel room.
The prices here for the rooms are also good value, starting at $ 160, which is reasonable when you compare it to the prices of the big name hotels. If you don’t mind staying in China Town and not closer to the harbour or Hyde Park, then Valentines on George is definitely a place you should consider when you’re next booking a hotel in Sydney.
