Great coffee… And also the presentation! Lights in the attic is new and spacious café, with science apparatus used as décor throughout.

4.5 stars for this little gem. There’s no shortage of brunch options in these parts, so when a new kid hits the block they need to bring their A game. And these guys have succeeded. They’re reaching for many different markets but it doesn’t feel like they’re trying too hard, seems to come easy. On the menu they have the healthy-set options think egg whites, rice bread, cold pressed juices and fresh baby coconut etc. Cool, will bring my fuss bucket sisters here. There’s several ‘build-your-own’ options for fussy eaters. A very strong interesting breakfast menu, given the way it was presented it seemed like it might change regularly. Coffee game: strong. Value: strong. Interesting options on the menu: strong. I had Mr Bean and wow, was it interesting and like nothing that came before it. Poached eggs, tofu, mock meat, stir-fry veg. Different? Yes. Delicious? Yes! Dining partner had the scotch eggs. Two golden brown eggs in a potato rosti nest. The tomato underneath brought a nice bit of heat. He fancied his breakfast. As we finished up we both mused that this has become our new favourite.

Nice cosy café that was very unassuming, and had a nice clean décor that set a good tone from the minute we walked in. They served good coffee and very good food. The food was very creative and serving size was very generous. My friend and I are generally big eaters, and we struggled to finish our food. Will definitely be back again soon.

After hearing lots of good things about this place I was keen to give it a go. I’m happy to say I was not disappointed. When you look at the menu you’ll be pleasantly surprised to see that not only do they have the usual suspects of breakfast and lunch choices, they also have many awesome extras such as pulled pork belly burgers, and scotch eggs(yes scotch eggs) with a twist. Being a Brit I couldn’t let scotch eggs pass me by so I took the plunge, eagerly awaiting what was to come. When it did arrive I was actually a bit blown away. It came on a nest of fries that had been woven together to form a birds nest. The scotch eggs were perfect with runny yolks and the nest and accompanying tomato base was really tasty too. My dining partner chose a fruit salad. When I say fruit salad this was no ordinary fruit salad. It contained so many fruits and berries and every piece looked like it should have been on a menu photograph. Apparently it tasted great too. You can tell the chefs and owners care about their food here. The coffee is really nice too and it’s all very reasonably priced. I’m definitely coming back here. And if it’s as good second time out I’m upping my review to five stars.
