Hmmmm so this was an interesting one. On Trip Advisor, this restaurant is ranked number 3/6,755 restaurants in greater Sydney. Forgive me if I was expecting(almost) the best that greater Sydney has to offer. Expectations were high. Particularly given that it’s neighbour, Ginger Indian restaurant, has the best naan bread I have ever eaten in my life, hands down. The ambience was a bit strange, there was relatively loud techno music playing when we entered and it had a fairly jazzy vibe. The place also wasn’t packed, which I found odd given it was a Monday night and many of its neighbour restaurants were closed. The décor was very simple — it just didn’t appear to be all that(trying not to judge by first impressions!!) However, the food and Service were pretty good. In fact, the wait staff did do a lot to make sure that we were enjoying our meal and the Malabar Curry prawns were really tasty. Palak Paneer was also very good with just enough spice. The entrée was pretty average(Dahi Puri) mainly because it was served cold and I was expecting piping hot pastry puffs filled with potato and spinach. It was mainly filled with yoghurt and tamarind sauce with some dried peas in amongst a soupy mess. The entrée was my only complaint. However, I find it strange that this ranks so highly elsewhere… Although there was a sign that the place was under new management so maybe its predecessors were mainly responsible. Worth a try if you’re looking for something other than Ginger. Try not to be too disappointed by the naan bread.
