Always great food, coffee and service. The poached eggs are incredible and the food is clean, no added rubbish!

stopped in for breakfast on a barely sunny Adelaide hills morning. The warm verandah was inviting, the waitperson even more so and the menu terrific. Interesting menu full of healthy ish choices all done a bit differently. I had Muesli(layered with fruit) and it was terrific. K had a beany thing looked great. Eggs, toast, all the usuals, good coffee. Well worth a visit.

Still waiting for our meal 1.5 hours later. Finally my gnocchi came. It was mostly mushrooms with a few gnocchi.

This is a lovely restaurant with an imaginative menu that’s perfect if you want to impress someone on a hot date. Or if you want to keep your long-burning romance still hot. Or if you’re a passionate foodie after good fare. It is a favourite restaurant of Hahndorf locals and Adelaideans, so it might be best to book ahead because it can get busy, particularly on a weekend. The staff are warm and friendly and the produce is fresh and tasty. The menu offers the best of that season’s produce. I had a lovely dukka-crusted lentil cake when I went. This Middle East-influenced dish on salad leaves with roasted red capsicum came with some fantastic-tasting goat curd — and no wonder, it was from down the road at Udder Delights. How more local can you get for locally sourced produce? And my bloke loved the roast chicken breast. The chicken was free range — which always has a superior taste than more factory-farmed chicken. It was served upon creamed fennel with a potato and crisp leeks. The restaurant’s wine list also offers some lovely wine from boutique wineries.
