Brought the family here for a Sunday meal. Place ain’t fancy looking but the food here is worth the visit, in particular the chicken. We get some standard stuff — bowl of tabouli, Greek salad, babaganoush, hummus,(apologies for poor spelling), chicken and lamb shish skewers with a whole chicken and of course the obligatory garlic sauce. Along with 4 drinks and one take away chicken(yep that good!), it was $ 80. We also got a bowl of chips. There was also complimentary bread and pickles for the 5 of us. The babaganoush was fairly stock standard stuff but the hummus was a bit runny. The skewers weren’t the best we’ve had and may possibly have been overcooked because they were busy. We should of realised this wasnt a good pick either, looking around at all the other people that had ordered only the roast chicken!(To justify the order of skewers, we had been looking to go to another restaurant for lunch that day that served awesome skewers and was trying to fill that void… Anyway…) The garlic sauce is up there amongst the best as is the chicken! The chicken as you’d expect was the hero, crispy skin on the outside and moist on the inside. Not salty like El-Jannahs(yes, I’m speaking ill of El-Jannahs and yes I find their chicken salty!) so that you could easily eat a whole chicken on your own. As a takeaway chicken joint, I’d rate this place as a 4 star but as the other stuff such as the grills and the hummus was not as good as some of the other places around, it’s 3 stars from me.
