My partner and I go so regularly, we’re now on a first name basis with staff. They’re THAT good! Go… now!

Flaky pastry without a hint of glugginess, a generous meat to gravy ratio and a range of interesting flavours make the pies here among the best I’ve paid money for. I really enjoyed the Lamb & Rosemary pie. Added to that they have old-fashioned service with a smile and a jukebox playing old rock’n’roll tunes. The bread pun in the title is just a bonus.

This is a pretty amazing bakery. Whether looking for something sweet or savoury, the huge range of baked goods in their cabinet will have you umming and arrhing for a while as it all looks too good to make a decision on just one thing. I’m usually in the market for something savoury, but my eyes always linger on their almond croissants covered in sugary, almond goodness to the point that they barely resemble croissants. I recently had a sausage roll from there(because I couldn’t decide on a pie). The pastry was light and flaky and the filling oily and nicely seasoned. There’s nothing worse than a dry sausage roll, but the Rock’nRoll sausage roll has grease galore, to the point that I found it hard to finish. It is also pretty big. Good value, delicious bakery food. Staff not as friendly as they could be, but service is quick. Highly recommend.

BEST. PIES. IN. BRISBANE! I hope the caps-lock on that earlier statement made you imagine that I shouted it from a rooftop– because everyone should know about it! I can’t even cope with the pastry deliciousness that is Rock ‘n’ Roll Bakery. The apple crumble and berry with almond criossants are also delectable. I don’t think much more needs to be said, do you? Go. Now. What are you waiting for?

The Rock and Roll Bakery and Fruiters is a bread lover’s dream. They make bread to suit almost any ones needs. They are known and loved for their range of great sour dough and rye breads such as pumpkin and onion sourdough or walnut and honey rye. They also do a range of gluten free breads and rolls that are just a notch above the rest of the generic bakeries and supermarkets. They have a range of great pies as well that are made fresh in house every day and in 2009 were even voted as being the best pies in Brisbane. The smell that hits you when you walk into the bakery is great but does make you hungry so if you go in chances are you will be leaving with some great baked goods. Attach to the Bakery is a fruit and veg shop that has great fresh organic fruit and vegetables as well as deli. The Rock and Roll Bakery is located on Logan road and its brightly painted exterior makes it hard to miss.
