Every facet of this church is insipid. It does not inspire the Almighty to enter joyously and valiantly from above. It doesn’t even inspire me to enter from the street. Minimal to no stained glass windows coupled with dark green carpet and a 90s style building combine to concoct pure boredom in the minds of, often time, perturbed parishioners. The thing that gets me is that it’s like the organist has subconsciously realised the boredom and mediocrity this church oozes and mirrored it in their works. I wish I could add a sound byte so you can hear the painfully insipid and sleep inspiring sounds that spring forth from the front of the church. God help me. And the priests. Saint Anthony’s seems to specialise in providing unmarried men that herald from Poland. This is not enjoyable listening material. Good on them for trying to learn English but, until they do, please keep the long winded sermons to a minimum. Cringe inducing, really. There is a car park outside that is often surprisingly full. I don’t know why people come to this church. The only answer I can come up with is low standards. I hope I don’t get struck by lightning when God reads this…
