Wonderfish

This place presents ostensibly as a clean slick street side Fish and Chip Takeaway however it offers a a good range of sit down meal options and those we had were great! Takeaways are less expensive.
On a Saturday night all 6 footpath tables were taken by 5.45. Seating is on the street and pleasantly away from traffic with street planters to soften the experience.
The meals come with good fresh salad and grilled options, and the batter used is light crunchy and thin (not thick and not grease laden).
Our grilled and battered barramundi (wild and farmed offered) and snapper and scallop options were cooked well and the accompanying salad (hand cut — 9 ingredients!) and the slicey not dicey herbed potatoes were also very well made. These meals far exceeded our expectations. (Sauces are free too.)
They have real wine glasses to use and offer water. The one person (counter order, table delivery) service was fast friendly and informative.
There are the expected choices available of snacks etc for this style of place and it IS a fish and chip shop not a restaurant, casual cheerful and no fuss.
If I had one little Wonderfish wish t’would be to see comment on the sustainability and/​or provenance of the catch.
