Very loud pulsating music does not make for a relaxing breakfast on Sunday morning in semi-rural Glenhaven. I tried to order but while standing in the queue the music got too much for us so we walked out.

We’ve been several times as there’s nothing else for miles. Nice but, geez, could be so, so much better. How long does a coffee take? And why is there always such a long wait between coffee and food, even just a muffin, and even when the place is not particularly busy? Less hipster pose and more attention to service, please, boys and girls. Suggest a nice sabbatical in Italy to study efficient café bar service and charm.

One of the best burgers found in the Hills area! Opened by the guys from The Baron, I knew this place would not disappoint. The burgers are delish and don’t even get me started on their fries sprinkled with super tasty Moroccan salt(or similar). You can definitely expect a relaxed and enjoyable experience especially as it’s located next to the park. The last time I went, I brought my dog along with my little niece and nephew, and they were loving it too!

Great coffee, we have been here more time than we have had cooked breakfasts! — but the food has changed recently… It used to be great food every time, now it’s becoming hit and miss and at times disappointing… Highly recommend giving them a try. Hope they sort out their food quality issues soon…

Nice seasoning on the fries, burger meat was a little dry, plenty of sauce to compensate(perhaps a little too much). Bit of a chilli kick in the tomato sauce, which I really liked. Overall not bad for a burger shop in The Hills.

This place is pretty great! They have blankets so you can enjoy your meal on the grass! #picnicwiththeboys The greatest part is the cute barista named Jordan. He even brought our food down to us in the park! Now that’s what I call service! A+++

I got the burrito but they had used cheap meat in it that I couldn’t bite thru. It ended up going everywhere while I struggled to bite thru it and eventually just had to take huge chunks of meat all at once. Also while I was ordering the person behind the counter took out their phone to check texts. Why overpriced for the cheap product I got

I discovered this locale based on reccommendations from Unilocal. It runs true to previous reviews. The breakfast taco is divine, the single origin coffee is as it should be and the staff friendly. It was quite busy on this Sunday morning, which is always a great sign. I’ll be back… but next time I’ll bring my friends!

Just when I was afraid to stop somewhere for breakfast, in fear of more poached eggs stacked on barely toasted sourdough…I remembered The Tuckshop. I have two words for you: Breakfast Taco Happy days, my friend! Tortillas with a couple of mini hash browns for crunch layered under delish chorizos, avo, sour cream & a fried egg. Coriander & a lemon wedge. Heaven. Add a coffee and your day can’t go wrong!

When the sun is shining, and you feel like a drive, and you are looking for a destination café or just a pit stop, this is one worth keeping in mind. While they are know more for their food, they also can make some damm fine coffee as well. As kind of a break away from the Baron café, the Tuckshop has quickly become an institution in its own right. While in the early days, there were no single origin coffees to be found, that has now long been resolved. One of the other added benefits of this café is the kids park right next door, to which the café is happy to supply your coffee needs(and even a blanket on request I believe). So jump in the car, and head on over. When you are there be sure to check out their cold brew coffee, as it is quite popular with the locals. Passion: 9⁄10 Crema: 8⁄10 Coffee: Single Origin Roasters

Overall this place is way to hip for a regular hipster! It’s always happening and lively! You can’t be just mere human to enter into these premises, everywhere you turn there’s another cool kid on the block… Oh wait… A regular looking family just entered! Phew don’t feel so out of place! In saying that, the staff are friendly I think it’s just the customers that think they’re too cool for school! Anyhow… I had the vegan banh burger, lots of interesting flavours in that, not too sure if I’d order it again ha! The coffee was spectacular! I had three glasses in one visit, so smooth and aromatic! One wasn’t going to cut it! I’ll definitely be back soon to try the pull pork roll!

Old school tuck shop — New school coffee! I’ve been wanting to check out this place for a while now. Ever since I found them on Instagram! First impression? Smaller than I thought(but insty can be deceiving) however really well done. I love when you can look at a place, at its set up, design, fit out and just see that it works. It’s what they were going for and nailed it! Polished isn’t the outcome, but vibe is and vibe is what the tuck shop absolutely nails. You walk in and immediately in front of you is a smart hip looking counter with light bulbs hanging and a slick coffee machine immediately to your right. But when you look to your far right you see a bunch of fellas cooking in an old school grilling fit out and is reminiscent of your 1990s take away food joint. Brilliant. You order at the front and then find a table on the long communal tables(again tuck shop themed!). All your food is brought out in take away containers which is brilliant. I had the bacon and beef burger with paprika fries and the whole thing was brilliant! Brioche bun, cheddar cheese perfectly melted, a Chilli aioli, heaps of bacon and Delish real meat patty. 5⁄5! My picollo Coffee was well balanced, creamy and Delish also. My only criticism was that the food took awhile to come out and the gap between when my coffee came to when food arrived was quite big. Other than that really good! Overall it was like a good ol fashioned country burger joint with«A Grade» Hipster quality coffee :) Totally Unpretentious, completely on theme and bloody delicious! There is LOTS to love about the tuck shop. Definitely check it out.

Excellent Coffee and service! Tucked away this joint is a great place to grab an excellent coffee and good food without travelling out of the burbs. The menu is fixed over the day so if you are after a wide choice for each meal time you may find it limited. However the food is super fresh, of a high quality and tastes great. Food is served tuck shop style, in cardboard boxes with disposable bio cutlery; a neat touch. Well worth a visit. There is a great park next door if you want to be rid of the kids!

While the location is a little tucked away, this gem is a fun find in the ‘burbs. The cheeseburger was quite possibly THEBEST burger I’ve had in a very long time. From the brioche roll, juicy meat patty and zingy mustard — it was an absolute winner in my books! Looking forward to the next time I find myself out in Glenhaven just to have another of these mouthwatering burgers.

Well done! The guys who opened the Baron in Castle Hill have done it again. Tucked away in the Glenhaven shops is this little gem. The tuck shop has a great friendly vibe with plenty of outdoors seating. It offers a breakfast menu however the star here are the burgers. I ordered the cheesy cheese burger along with the green smoothie to balance it all out! The green smoothie was good and not too green tasting. While the burger was served on a toasted brioche bun(the only way to serve a burger) and the meat Pattie was cooked well. It was served with seasoned chips which were extremely good. The prices were reasonable with the total coming in under $ 20! This is a great option for those on the hills area. Will definitely visit again when in the area! :)

Delicious. Wife and I walk from Coogee to enjoy. The smoothies are great — recommend the mocha — as is the brekky. The Tuckshop Brekky meal hits be spot, especially the crispy pancetta, and the the beef brisket is super tender and flavorful. Great coffee and deserts as well.

Really cool place to check out, not exactly in the centre of town but it’s in a nice quite spot with plenty of room to move. I asked for the pulled pork roll after being told repeatedly that it was amazing and to disappointment of my empty grumbling stomach and salivating mouth they were out of burgers of all types. I know quality has no substitute but this was a Tuesday arvo. And you have like 7 things on your menu. Aaaanyway I ended up getting the beef brisket roll with appleslaw. Holy egg rolls it was amazing! That first bite was like I had been punched in face with flavour and left with an amazing mixture of flavours trickling down my chin… *clears throat* The bottom line is that it was fantastic! Never thought a roll could taste that good! But having sold out of at least half your menu might not go down that well if the food wasn’t so salivatingly awesome. Ok I’ve gotta stop now.

So this is the sister café to the Baron. However, I am going to put it out there, even though Baron fans might consider this sacrilegious. I like Tuckshop better than the Baron. It has a lot more friendly vibe. Even though this is still Hipster, it doesn’t seem as stuck up as the Baron. For some reason I feel that Baron excepts me to kiss their feet for serving me coffee. It could just be me. But the staff here seem a lot more friendly. Coffee here is good, but you can’t really go wrong with anything from Single Origin roasters. The only problem is like the Baron it is quite small, so make sure you come in early or outside the peak times if you want a seat. But it is also a good place to just grab a quick coffee — which I know do. I am glad more cafés are opening up in this area.

Loved this new café in Glenhaven! Something you would expect to find in Surry Hills or Darlinghurst — but as the cute interior says«where it’s not the city & you couldn’t care less» it has a more relaxed atmosphere and is surrounded by lovely greenery, and a big oval next door(they provide picnic rugs if you want to enjoy your food outside)! It was a little busy on Sunday morning but we didn’t have to wait long for our order, and had no problems finding a spot to sit. Great menu, great coffee — perfect for brunch! I will be trying a juice or smoothie next visit as they also looked delicious. The staff were friendly and cheerful. I will definitely be visiting again. Two thumbs up!
