The best bean curd rolls that I have ever had in my LIFE. I really liked that you could choose what you wanted in your laksa, including the noodles. Can’t wait to visit again so I can eat this again.

After taking the kids to swim lessons, we were all super famished and could not be bothered to make dinner! RaRaRamen was closed but looking into Grand Tofu, they were packed for a Monday night! The service was kinda rude but I guess efficient enough. The food takes a bit to come out and doesn’t come out all at once which was kinda weird, but when everything eventually came out my tummy was ready to devour! My nephews ordered sweet and sour pork which comes with rice which he really seemed to enjoy and the other ordered fried noodles with BBQ pork. This dish was quite generous in portion so he didn’t finish it. I can see it being family style here since everything is quite generous but enough for one person. I ordered the salt and pepper chicken ribs. It was delish! It came with a serving of rice and sautéed onions and thai chili peppers. I’ve been complaining that I haven’t been able to find a spicy dish, but the fresh thai peppers were perfect! I was looking for the pork version of this as offered in most Chinese places, but I couldn’t find it. My cousin ordered wonton noodle soup that was good but I could see that they skimped a bit on the noodles. The one thing to avoid is their Shanghai dumplings!!! It was super oily and FILLED with ginger and barely any meat. I would definitely come back to try other dishes, but I wouldn’t mind having my dish again! Oh and cash only! They also have a tofu bar in front that you can order some take away from!

There is one dish that I always come back here for whenever I’m eat out in Glen Waverley; the signature stuffed beancurd noodles in curry soup. The variety of ingredients for selection is good and the curry soup is delicious. Best to keep you warm in winter. Furthermore, the salty fish fried rice/vermicelli here is also quite good.

This place has moved at least once in the last few years. I’ve been to it in the old store, and perused the newer store a couple of times. I’m not terribly impressed with the quality of what I’ve had, which is a pity because the menu has to be one of the more appealing cheap Asian menus in the area, and that’s quite a feat. My experience revolves around my desire to find the best beef rendang in Melbourne. See, I absolutely love this dish. When it is done right. When it’s wrong, it is possibly the worst dish you could ever have placed in front of you. In this case, the sauce was a little bit bland and the meat was tough. You can tell that they must have used some very ordinary meat, as rendang is generally quite forgiving of using secondary cuts of meat. It is supposed to cook for a long time, so it normally doesn’t matter. I don’t know if I’ve only been there on bad days or not, so I won’t comment any further. Service is average. Prices would be good if the food was of a higher quality. Give ‘em a go though, I’ve paid more for much worse.
