Pets on the Point at Glebe is a dog groomer that I can highly recommend. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the dog grooming is of an exceptionally high quality and great value for money. The shop offers a wide range of nutritional food, toys and other fun products that your treasured pet will love.

Friends who have a Welsh terrier recommended this place as my foster dog Coco was a bit on the nose and quite actually washing her was beyond me. I rang up and made a booking for the following day. It’s a great little shopfront on Glebe Point Road opposite the library, and it’s full of pet paraphernalia like beds and harnesses and biscuits and meat and treats and toys and you will have to stop yourself going crazy and buying all the things. Out back is where they do the grooming and there were a few dogs getting seen to when I dropped off Coco — most notably a couple of very large poodles clipped into full pom-​pom mode. When Guy scooped up Coco and carried her off I knew a moment of intense separation anxiety! plus Coco can be a bit thingy with strangers so I was worried that she’d misbehave, but I think Guy’s confidence and surety carried the day. I mean, do/​say anything with authority and dogs (and people) will fall into line. I took myself off to a neighbouring café while I waited out the hour. It’s Glebe; there’s cafes everywhere! You can head up to Blackwattle Bay and check out the killer view of Anzac Bridge, or if it’s a Saturday visit the market in the public school. Coco has a short coat so didn’t need clipping, and a wash and dry with medicated shampoos, nail clipping, and ear/​gland check cost a cool $ 40. I bought a couple of packets of treats and Guy gave me a discount — what a nice dude. Coco was very excited when I picked her up, and didn’t even want to roll in anything disgusting on the walk home.

Do not go to this company. They charged me for dematting that did not occur. They advised after we brought him down that it would take over 3 hours to wash dry and dematt my small dog. When I called them regarding this and said I needed to pick him up in an hour and a half as we were travelling they said he would be done fully which he wasn’t. When I spoke to them regarding this they said he was extremely knotted which is incorrect as not only had he been at the groomers two weeks before I groom him 4 times per week. They were rude and very obnoxious when I spoke to them and told me never to bring him again. They have lost my custom as they are taking in too many dogs and are unable to cope with the volume to achieve the results. Please be aware also that the dogs are kept in cages and my dog who is very good with groomers came out terrified.
