The Geelong Boat House

Absolute ripoff totally over rated and substandard. I wouldnt waste time or money. Has potential but badly managed.

Just sampled the Geelong Boat House hot chips and potato cakes.
They were both cooked to perfection.
Slightly crispy on the outside and soft in the middle.
It was very pleasant sitting on the decking on this cloudy Autumn day.
I’m afraid they were that yummy there were none left for the local seagulls :-(

Quite good. I’ve had the experience of both dining in the restaurant and more casual ‘take away’ area.
The restaurant, while not amazing, delivers a solid seafood-​focused experience. Servings are generous, and the seafood is fresh (delivered 6 times weekly according to the proprietor). While it’s not going to win any awards for a high class dining experience, it’s a solid local restaurant.
The outside and takeaway areas use a different menu, and are definitely more tuned towards the typical ‘fish and chips’ experience. Prices are reasonable ($ 10 for a fish and chips pack) although drinks are slightly expensive at $ 4 for a 600ml bottle. Again, seafood is fresh and orders are delivered quickly. There are several tables available upstairs on the roof, which provide a nice dining experience during the summer.
I would recommend this establishment.
