A lovely, feminine oasis in the middle of Geelong.
I have had the pleasure of lunch quite a few times at Lotus. The setting is modern, tranquil and pretty. There is a great open fire place and a surprising courtyard out the back.
The food here is always good, simple fare covering the usual spectrum of pizzas, pastas, curries and salads. Prices are usually between $ 15 — $ 25 for most mains.
You will often see ladies catching up over a bite to eat. There is also a day spa above the café.
My main criticisms are that the service can be patchy and the wait for food to arrive is just far too long to make this your regular lunch spot. A 30 minute wait for a simple pizza or salad is common. Similarly, if you want to pay it is quicker to get up and do so at the counter than wait for the bill to be brought to the table.
I am yet to try dessert but there are some tempting creations in the front cabinet
Lotus is ideal for lunching with your girlfriends, if you are not in a rush.
