I have tried bun vermicelli after also eating at the neighbouring Oo“s kitchen. It serves nice noodle dishes and beautiful phở. We also tried a few entrée dishes such as the dim sim(delicious) and spring rolls. I will definitely be back to try more dishes and give the lunch options a try.

After becoming aware of this place through two wise-to-it sources, a fellow(foodie) radio presenter and my neighbour Mr Wong, I sought out what turned out to be a popular, cheap, and close to home eatery. In a short stretch of nosh shops on Fullarton Road, this small space churns out decent amounts of its specialty, phở. I can’t recall the(chef) owners name, but while I’d set myself up at the window counter to slurp my serving of his broth, he sidled up next to me for a chat. Very(food) knowledgeable guy he is, great to talk to about all related matters. He commented on how long I took to finish my dish. I explained I wanted to savour it and my first experience here. I did not however have the heart to tell him I found them both a little bland. While on this occasion my phở lacked flavour, it was very photogenic. And don’t get me wrong — I intend to return to sample what others have raved about — the pan-fried crispy pork chops with fried egg and jasmine rice — the hot pot with chicken, Chinese sausage and sliced fungus — and bun(vermicelli salad bowls) — one with sugar cane prawns and fresh rice noodles.
