Reblocking basically involves removing existing stumps and replacing them with new concrete stumps. This is done by jacking up the area around the defective stumps and then lowering the floor joist back on to the new stump and then securing into place with concrete. Each new stump must be precisely positioned in order to ensure the house will be level and structurally
Jack and pack consists of lifting (also known as jacking) the house to make it level. Packers are then inserted on top of the concrete stump. The floor is then lowered back down which keeps the house level. This process is only available to house that have existing concrete stumps in place.
