If free fun and fitness are your angle then the Fremantle trails were practically designed for you– tight arced Aussie Dads, listen up: The information centre distributes information on 11 walking trails around perth, each with a specific theme and story to tell. The convict Trail consists of 18 points, ironically the starting point is a jetty off Bathers bay which is no longer there and works it’s way up through the streets passed olden day factories, the wardens cottages, the prison and up to the Eastern Gates Lookout. This is a great way to get out and combine the history of the land with the visuals to get a jist of your bearings and the hard yards that our ancestors paved. Of all of the trails in Freo– this is my favourite. Stock up on water, sunscreen and a long sleeve shirt and get out there!
