You know how sometimes there’s shops you want to visit but you don’t dare walk in because you feel like it is too cool for you? Sunday Social was one of these shops until today. With friends visiting from San Francisco we were exploring Winn Lane and I finally ventured into this small nook known as Sunday Social. Upon walking in I realised it was the exact opposite, there’s something for everyone here.
Full to the brim with carefully selected vintage clothes and accessories I began searching through the racks with endless pieces catching my attention. I couldn’t resist walking out of the store with two tops for $ 90, which, if you think about your mainstream stores could easily equate to one top that a handful of others will also be wearing. For the same price I’ve gotten two tops, that I’ll be hard pressed to find others wearing.
Best of all as an introvert, the sales assistant let us just browse without hovering over our shoulders at every second.
Sunday Social feels like discovering a secret world of clothes with great stories. I’m so glad I walked in and know I’ll be back to revisit their racks for one of the kinds from this vintage wonderland.

Another brick in the newly paved Winn Lane precinct, Sunday Social has made a home for some seriously cool kitsch and retro treats imported direct from the States by the vintage-​loving owner, in what was formerly a derelict building (talk about the old becoming new again :)
I’m often quite wary of the up-​market vintage shops which demand brand-​name prices for pre-​loved clothes, but this place justifies the boutique cost with its ultra-​cool laneway location and carefully curated collection. I spied some pretty sweet plaid collared shirts for around $ 60, as well as a few fun tees (one in particular featured a cartoon like rendition of Texas with the caption «The Lone Start State») and some good wayfarer and wireframe sunnies.
If you believe that clothes can appreciate in value with time and you don’t mind paying more than op-​shop prices, this place will be right up your alley.

This cute little vintage clothing store is one of the tenants of Winn Lane in the Valley. Very on-​trend, Sunday Social is a hipster’s dream, stuffed with pre-​loved clothes, shoes, and pretty jewellery. The range of clothing is lovely and I always enjoy going in for a browse. The store itself is tiny, so try and go when it’s not too busy to avoid claustrophobia. Prices are higher than your op-​shop second hand clothes, but not astronomical like some more pretentious vintage stores. Well worth a look on a lazy day.

This little shop is such a treasure trove for vintage lovers. So many of the vintage shops that have been springing up around inner-​Brisbane in the past couple of years are ridiculously overpriced. I mean, we all know that vintage is fashionable and hip at the moment, but let’s not forget that all of these things are, after all, pre-​owned. Sunday Social, however, is very reasonable priced and doesn’t have that pretentious, slightly intimidating vibe that some *cough* Retro Metro *cough* vintage shops have.
Their window displays are always colourful and cheerful and never fail to suck me in. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to leave Sunday Social empty-​handed! As well as vintage clothing, they have vintage accessories, shoes, and hats so you can put together a whole ensemble. I love to buy gifts for friends from vintage shops because it means that you can give them something they wouldn’t find anywhere else and Sunday Social’s cabinet has lots of sweet little earrings etc. that are ideal for wrapping up in cute paper and putting under the tree this Christmas.
I’ve found the staff to be helpful when you approach them, but they leave you alone to browse for as long as you want which I really appreciate. So many smaller shops seem to hire people to accost you the second you walk in, but this isn’t the case here.
Sunday Social is one of my all-​time favourite shops in Brisbane at the moment. Part of me wants to spread the word about how great it is and make sure they do a roaring trade, but part of me wants to keep it secret, tucked back there in Winn Lane so I can keep it all to myself. Too late for that now, I suppose!

Sunday social is as cute as a button
and affordable to boot!
I came across this vintage store after wandering into Winn lane one day,
and since then I’ve made every excuse to visit when I’m Valleyside.
I’m always sorely tempted by the racks groaning with preloved clothes
as well as the impressive handbag display.
The space itself is lovely light and full of knick knacks and detailing
you expect from a vintage boutique. (Be sure to drool over their shoe collection.)
If your a vintage aficionado or just a gal who likes a good dress
you won’t walk away empty handed.

Yay, more vintage! Sunday Social is a really cute little place nestled in the tiny Winn Lane market area. I had never even heard of the Winn Lane markets until my friend suggested we stop by on one of your shopping trips in the Valley. The lane is lined with drawings on the walls and market stalls, all filled with lovely jewellery pieces and vintage wares. It reminded me a lot of the lanes and alleys you find in Melbourne so I was more than enthused to see what was down there. It’s so nice and secluded that you feel a little like Alice going down the rabbit hole.
Anyway, enough about the lane itself. Sunday Social is perched at its end like a tidy little cottage. It’s a tiny, gorgeous little shop with vintage clothes and pieces, including a very sweet range of shoes. Indie kids would have a field day in Sunday Social, but I also think it has a little something for everyone. Their pieces are just so gorgeous with bags hanging in its middle with accessories dotting the central table. Guys are confined to a rail and a few shoes but girls have their pick. They have clothes from cute peter pan collared dresses through to funky light, fluttery tops. There’s also a really random but totally awesome Indian headdress behind the counter the wall too, just for a little bit of flair.
I hear this gorgeous little place went from being a market stall along Winn Lane to a now staple store with four walls. It’s no wonder, because they have such gorgeous novelty vintage pieces that you’d be crazy to pass by.
