As with pretty much everything in the Emporium set of shops, Alla Moda is deluxo. French lace, Italian silk, embroidered fabric, beaded fabric – this is the place to go if sewing something really special.
Around the store, they’ve pinned images of models on catwalks to rolls of fabric, presumably to demonstrate how you might use it, and you really can imagine that this is the stuff high-​end designers use to make their garments.
It also gives you an appreciation for the price of high-​end fashion. The cheapest fabric I saw in Alla Moda was $ 29 per metre (in a sale bin); the most expensive was $ 550!
Not fabric to mess around with, but perfect for a special garment.
