Pizzas and desserts here are fantastic! Nice thin pizza base but not too thin, good serves of toppings and lovely sauce, very friendly staff. Desserts are very rich and filling!

Pizza was good but their service let me down. Guy at the bar was somewhat condescending/snobbish. Maybe a bad day!!! Had the banoffe, but didn’t look anything like photos posted on Unilocal.Whipped cream smothered the whole thing. I’ve no idea what was underneath, I pondered what the heck was hiding/masking underneath…

Ordered a takeaway pizza from here looking for a more upmarket range of stuff-on-bread than the usual, and ordered the pork crackling pizza. The dough was delicious and also the pork, but THEREWASN’T ANYCHEESE?! Maybe I am ignorant of these«fine flavours» but I don’t understand why on earth you wouldn’t put cheese no matter what else is on there! It needs cheese.

When did it become okay to pay $ 23 for a margarita. Don’t get me wrong, it was a lovely pizza with fresh basil and the cosmetically Italian vibe but $ 23 for tomato paste and a dollop of bocconcini, your having a laugh right?

Turned up around 2am on Saturday Morning. Thought that all decent food was out of the window at this time of the night after a night around the valley… But it was actually quite nice and I was pretty full by the time I got home! :)

I finally got a chance to try out Alfredo’s last weekend and although it was a delight, I fear that they may be missing the memo on a couple of things. 1. The mural on the wall is awesome, but when trying to recreate a modern take on a Brooklyn-style pizza joint, its easy to overshoot into hipsterdom pretty darn fast. 2. The staff may do well with a refresher on customer service and diner’s social cues for things like water refills, an additional menu… etc. 3. Has anyone noticed that only the pizza base is woodfired? The toppings go on after the base gets fired and then its run through an electric oven??? Why do this when you have a beautiful brick oven to make pizza with. I don’t understand. 4. Turn the music down. Its too loud.

Nice, friendly place in the Valley. I love authentic italian cuisine so I had high expectations visiting Alfredo’s. Unfortunately the pizza was pretty average and the calmari too salty. I was definitely hoping for more, so I left this place feeling a bit disappointed :(

Alfredo’s is a much needed addition to the upper valley area. Delicious pizza, great service, awesome cocktails!

I might ruffle a few feathers saying this but I’m going to anyway. On a Saturday night I actually prefer Alfredo’s over Alfred and Constance. Now hear me out. Whilst Alfred & Constance is a great addition to the Brisbane drinking scene most Saturday nights is a sweatbox where you can hardly walk around the place. Whereas just next door at Alfredo’s you can order really nice and simple pizza’s, great beer and drinks selection and a wicked retro playlist remixing in and out of the favourite songs you haven’t listen to in years but still know every word. Many a great night has been had here with big tables of drunken friends breaking out into song and dance.

Alfredo’s is an absolute gem in the ever popular ‘Valley’, when you ask people where to go in Brisvegas for years people will tell you about ‘The Valley’ also known as Fortitude Valley. We were driven there by a Brisbane colleague and impressed is the best word I can describe for how we felt when we got there. A ridiculously cool environment with a large Feature Wall of a man devouring a slice of Pizza. We had cocktails and shared two pizzas with arancini balls. Food was excellent and the service was even better :) Try the Pork Belly!

Alfredo’s Pizzeria. It is probably a bad thing that Alfredo’s is so close to my work address. Bad for my health and bad for my wallet. Alfredo’s is a pizza place with a difference. A lot of effort has been put into the design and décor of the restaurant and it shows with a unique interior capped off by a large photo of the eponymous Alfredo on the wall(nose hairs and all). The menu offers a great variety of starters(my personal favourite is the bruschetta) and alternative dishes including classics like lasagna and homemade mac and cheese, but what you really need to eat(and eat a lot of) are the pizzas. Personal favourite for me is the ‘Brown Sugar’ — think of it like an upmarket BBQ meat-lovers pizza with huge meatballs, though other options are also fantastic with a 4 Cheese pizza variant(Sex Pistols) and a seafood pizza being other highlights. My recommendation would be to come in with a large group and share a few different pizzas so you get to taste them all. To top it off is a great selection of drinks and cocktails. If you haven’t been to Alfredo’s yet then you MUST give it a try.

I took my staff here for a team celebration dinner which ended up being a really fantastic idea. There’s a great drink list and the prices aren’t too bad and pizza is a very social meal to have. It also meant we got to try almost everything on the menu. That being said, the meatballs were great but unfortunately the pizzas were average. I like pizza. A lot. I like a thick doughy crust and lots of toppings. This is more of a flatbread style pizza and the toppings were lacking a little. It sounds weird, but don’t let it stop you from going there because the atmosphere is really great. So I’d say if you’re up for a great night out, go to Alfredo’s but if you’re specifically looking for good pizza and don’t care about the atmosphere, maybe try somewhere else.

I feel like the only person in Brisbane who doesn’t like to eat while looking at the mascot of the place, looking at me with a mouthful of pizza, while I’m trying to ingest my own mouthful of pizza. We came on a Tuesday night, ordered our entrée and main at the bar as well as some wine. Unfortunately they forgot our main, and we waited about 35−40minutes before it arrived. We didn’t kick up a stink, they acknowledged the problem once it was spotted and got our order to us quickly. We had the calamari, which was possibly a bit small for the cost(12 or 13?), the pizza was good, but not great. I had no issues with the amount of toppings, as the taste balance was just right. I’m happy to give them another go, as I’m sure that once everything settles down and they get a bit of experience everywhere things should be smooth sailing.

Like the Stones song goes ‘Ah brown sugar how come you taste so good!’ ‘You MUST get the brown sugar pizza’ they said, and oh how right they were. Meatballs, prosciutto and BBQ sauce, such a delight. How have I not had meatballs on a pizza before?! I’m a sucker for the small white tiled exterior of the building and the fit-out inside is really nicely done too. Bravo Alfredo, bravo.

You know what? Coming to Alfredo’s with no expectations served me well and leaves me wondering if as a virtue of time they’re always improving their pizzas or unlike other Unilocaler’s reviews, I’m just partial to simple pizzas with a few key flavours. Either way, Alfredo’s(cousin to Alfred & Constance, Limes and the soon to reopen Chester St Kitchen) ticks some pretty wonderful boxes. Let me tell you: # Industrial-chic fit-out with exposed brick, recycled window panes and purpose-built pizza oven. Tick. # One-page menu minimizing decision overload. Tick. # Gluten-Free bases. Tick. Between the two of us we ordered the roast eggplant and feta bruschetta, arancini balls, the brown sugar pizza and my dining companion managed to find room for the Banoffe pie. Each dish a delicious layer to the next and let’s stop to ponder the Brown Sugar — crispy pancetta, and the base. The soft doughy fluffy base! Okay, I’m back. Pizza might not be reinventing the wheel, but trust that with Damian Griffith behind it, it’ll be familiar with a twist. And depending on how hungry you and your dining party are, you’d easily walk away incredibly satisfied if you’ve ordered a few sides and one pizza. Forgo the sides if you want to try 2 pizzas. Next time I’m making deals with the gluten-gods to have the gnocchi!

The hype around this place has been phenomenal. For months, people have been eagerly awaiting it’s arrival. The idea is a place that will offer good food until late everyday as well as providing a wide range of beers on tap(16!) and delicious cocktails. I came here on a Sunday for lunch at 12pm. By 1pm, the place was packed! It’s definitely popular AND they don’t take bookings. The space is a lot smaller than I expected. The french windows allows in natural light and it’s really pleasant during the day and makes it seem bigger than it is. It will be curious to see if it is as crowded as A&C at night. As my friends and I were going to have afternoon elsewhere, we opted to have a light lunch sharing a pizza and two bar snacks. We decided upon the(P)Iggy & The Stooges pizza purely because of pork crackling, salt and pepper calamari and arancini balls. Unfortunately, the pizza(6 slices, $ 17.90 or $ 5.50/slice) didn’t have a whole lot of crackling and the toppings(thin slices of potato and thin slices of pork belly) were scarce. The wood-fired thin base was delicious though. The combination of herbs and the toppings were excellent too — I just wanted more. I like when pizzas are kept simple with not too many flavours but I think they need to be more generous. That or prices need to be adjusted(I note that since the launch these prices have already reduced a few dollars). The calamari($ 12.90) was crispy and tender but very overpriced for the size. When you serve it with creamy aioli though, of course it’s going to be tasty. The arancini balls were my favourite(4 for $ 11.90) as thye were gooey and had a cube of cheese in the centre. Also served with aioli. Again, overpriced but tasty. The cocktails look interesting and I think I would return for the drinks rather than the food. They are advertising a late night special where you get a whole pizza and a beer for $ 10. That sounds like good value. Shame it’s only between midnight and 3am.

My friend was flying into Brisbane from Sweden for a quick layover last night so I wanted to take her to a cool place that was still serving food. I decided on Alfredo’s Pizzeria since it’s been on my radar. The ambience of the place was great but the space was actually smaller than I thought. I loved the bar with the huge selection of beers on tap. The designer should get mad props because I just couldn’t take my eyes off of it. The«Sexy Pizza» sign above the wood fire oven won a few points as well. The interior designing was excellent. I really loved all the décor throughout the place. Our waiter greeted us kindly and let us sit wherever we wanted. Since we were wanting to have a proper catch up, we found a table that was a little further from the loud music. Between four of us, we shared two pizzas, Blue Hawaii(ham, pineapple, and parmesan) and the Sex Pistols(gorgonzola, pecorino, taleggio, mozzarella, and rosemary) with a jug of Sicilian Sunset(white wine, pineapple juice, strawberry syrup, fresh basil, seasonal fruit, and ginger ale). For the pizzas, I was very disappointed with the skimpy toppings. The blue hawaii hardly had any pineapple! I was actually taken by surprise by the lack of pineapples and had to question for a moment if we had received the right pizza. The pizza was more focused on the crust than toppings. For someone who loves the crusty pizza, you’ll like this. I liked the doughy taste but was thinking– that’s a lot of crust on the pizza. I think the majority of pizza lovers care more about what’s on the pizza. The sex pistols was very cheesy with a hint of rosemary. The pizzas were good but didn’t impress me. I also recommend eating them as soon as they arrive. They arrive right after leaving the wood fire oven but cooled pretty quickly leaving my second round of pizza slices not as good as the first. The jug tasted like juice which I enjoyed very much but I also know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I would like to try other drinks there in the future. I will go back to Alfredo’s but maybe more for the drinks than the pizza at this point. It just opened so there are adjustments still being made. Hoping for a few more pizza toppings next time.

«fa cosi caldo qui è la tua presenza» Aflredo’s Pizzeria; finally the big day has come. After two days of «testing» the kitchen and an official launch party the day before, the public are now able to sample the latest addition to the Limes, Alfred & Constance family. The concept is simple. Alfredos, located directly behind Alfred & Constance will be a pizza bar, offering pasta, drinks, dine — in or takeaway, and open until 3am, 7 days a week. There are elements of the décor that remind of the Brisbane Powerhouse, semi industrial, yet with minor elements of the 50s, and of course the modern-quirky touch that we’ve become accustomed to a la Aflred & Constance. For instance, as you come in, and look up, there are large overhanging pot plants, and directly in front by the door is an old school cash register. But it works. The exposed brick and beams, of Aflredos, is confirmation that Damien and team, all know how to turn unusable old venues into useable modern and stylishly unconventional spaces. I love the kitchen in the middle of the room, with the woodfired pizza oven. It’s interesting to watch the guys work, as they make the pizza, stretching, rolling the dough, and from time to time, talking to their earpiece, like a Secret Service agent. Pizza is serious stuff! A bunch of us came in for lunch, the staff were friendly, and we sat by the large open windows on the bar stools to people-watch on Alfred Street. The menu is simple, and uncomplicated. Choices are divided into 4 distinct groups: 1) Bar Snacks(from garlic bread to bowl of meatballs); 2) Comfort Food(from Soup & Crusty Bread to Handmade Gnocchi); 3) Desserts(from Crepes to Waffles) and of course 4) a variety of Pizzas. I go with the Italian Pork Roll and the white rabbit white ale. Despite the busy lunchtime crowd, there’s actually a laid back atmosphere, not too many loud conversations, but the music is slightly distracting for my liking. The wait staff were great and not just because their tops spelt«sex» in faint writing. They checked in on us several times, and when the food was delivered, they kept checking in asking about how it was, and whether we needed more drinks. Maybe because next to where we sat, scrawled across the wood panel were the words«fa cosi caldo qui è la tua presenza». Something about being hot in your presence. Yep, sounds about right :) The pork roll was really tasty, slightly sweet, but definitely fatty. I loved it. The white rabbit white ale, washed it down perfectly. All in all, Alfredos is a great addition to this corner of Fortitude Valley, and I for one, am looking forward to the late night pizzas and pies after a night of cocktails at Limes or Alfred & Constance. I am a fan already.
