Love this place. Tucked away in the University, but great coffee, imaginative and tasty menu, along with great service. As Arnie would say: I’ll be baaaaack!

Coffee is good, staff are pretty cool, and there’s plenty of seating. Prices however are beyond ridiculous for most the food. If you’re on a Uni-student’s budget(who of their customers aren’t?) I’d recommend getting a good coffee there, but your lunch elsewhere.

Good coffee, a nice selection of food, and in the warmer months, awesome strategically positioned outdoor seating. This is a place I may just go out of my way to hang out at in the coming months.

The Reading Room is a beacon of cool in the otherwise isolated Footscray Park campus of Victoria University. Thanks to Sensory Lab roasts and good baristas, my compulsory stop by the Reading Room each morning is more than just a simple caffeine fix. They also feature delicious food — I’m a particular fan of their salads. My one complaint would be that the food selection is very meat(particuarly ham and bacon) heavy — I would like to see them get a bit more creative with the veg options beyond the delicious(but a bit oily) roast vegetable sandwich and savoury muffins. They have a separate menu for the weekend and I can’t help but wish that a few of the choice selections from that menu could creep over to the weekday menu. Nevertheless, I’ll still stop by every morning for one of the better coffees in my life.
