Hits the spot every time. The food here is so fresh and tastes amazing. Any type of hangover can be cured here, promise. The place can get quite busy around lunch so opt for a little later in the afternoon and you’re set. The staff are really friendly as well.

I travel to the States often and I’m fortunate to say I’ve had some amazing American style burgers. So when I heard about 8bit I had to give it a try and I must say it was a descent American style burger for Australia. Tasty, tender and if you love your burgers it’s worth the wait. I had the 8BIT with cheese and added bacon. I ordered the potato gems which I never received even after asking for them 3 times. The queue was out the door and took around 20 mins before I could place my order. Take note seating is limited and you would be lucky to get one. The salted caramel shake was awesome 3.5 Star for me.

Burgers were pretty decent, I had the 8bit with cheese. Good value for money with the burger coming in at $ 9.50. Worth a look, however there is now a second restaurant in the CBD so you don’t need to trek over to the west side. Didn’t rate the onions rings, they just tasted like deep fried batter.

Great staff always smiling and always on point with the food and services After and hard day at work and a late return home it’s a blessing to stop off and have a bite before home… The menu is on point simple and straight to the point and the waiting time is fare and you always get a smile when your handed your food

Gamer themed burgers, pixel décor and an arcade game in the restaurant… What’s not to like? Good thing the burgers taste good too. I kept it simple with the 8bit Burger and it was pretty damn delish.

After spending an afternoon in Footscray we were on a mission to find this burger place! And it seems like we got there just in time before the dinner rush. Simple menu(which is great) and fast service. I got the Altered Beast(10.50) and partner in crime got the 8Bit with cheese($ 9.50), we got a small side of beer battered fries(3.50) and got the salted caramel shake(7.50) which we both thought was a bit pricy for the size it was but the flavour was good and it was nice and thick. Good to know that there is also another 8bit burger place right in the city and this place is always busy. Next time though will try a hotdog as they sound good and delicious :)

Definitely a great place to go post-hangover. Big heaping serves of greasy burgers and potato gens, hot dogs and just about all the toppings and fixings you can think of. Always seems to be super busy, so I would suggest going when you’re happy to settle in for some light lining up action.

Double Dragon Burger, Salted Caramel Milkshake, Onion Rings: An American review The double — double(see In ‘n Out) burger with bacon, pickle, smears of mayo, mustard and ketchup was tasty messy in all the right ways. The milkshake was good but quite ‘loose’ to the American mouth. The onion rings, using tempura batter, we’re unremarkable with the onion taste completely lost in the batter.

Wanting to go this place for ages and wow was incredible. Burgers are fresh and shakes are great! Price was around $ 10 and wait wasn’t too long

This place is so groovey, it reminded me of my childhood at timezone playing games and damn, these burgers are so juicy. All I can say, it is finger licking burgers.

These burgers were so greasy and delicious — just how I love mine! Typical diner style and full of calories: D Visiting 8bit was a huge highlight for my boyfriend and I when we were in Melbourne. We’re both big video gamers, pop culture nerds and both have 8bit tattoos on our forearms! The décor in here is unreal. I LOVE themed restaurants. I think there should be more of them! I don’t know why we ordered the cheese fries — I only had a little bit because I was so full from the burger. They were delicious too! We got there just before lunchtime and so glad we did, the queue was out the door come 12:30pm! We were lucky to find a spot to sit too. That’s basically the only downfall of this place, there’s not a lot of room and because of it’s cult following, the queue is crazy long. Also, PLEASECOMETOSYDNEY. PLEASE!

The Double Dragon was very bland but the Chocolate Bar Shake was great. The waitress that brought the food over seemed a little rude as she just shoved the tray onto the table and snatched the table number.

8Bit is on par for the best burger I’ve ever had. The burger itself is really excellent — juicy patty which isn’t too thick, good bun, not too sweet & toasted perfectly. You can add patties/cheese & a range of other extras. The burger itself isn’t too big & isn’t huxtaburger small(sorry for the cheap shot, but come on HB). They also have a chicken burger, a veggie burger & a bunch of hot dogs. The sides are varied with good options — we just had regular fries(they also have loaded & chilli cheese) & potato gems which were both cooked perfectly. Each side comes with a tomato or mayo at no cost & we also got a sriracha mayo which was a hit. The prices are really reasonable & probably on the low side for what a basic burgers & fries in Melbourne usually costs. The fit out of the restaurant & branding is great — the place itself is very small & feels like a get in & get out diner. The staff were really friendly even when the place were packed out. It was really busy the night we went & from what I’ve heard that’s pretty common. We arrived just after 7& waited maybe 5 mins in line &15 mins for food which was fine. People don’t hang around for long so you can hover & snag a seat.

I don’t understand the hype here. Fries with cheese and bacon are quite dried, soggy and not fresh. Altered beast is also average. The design, package and website is very nice but it’s not edible :( I prefer build your own burger at McDonalds. Patty is much higher quality and I can choose my own ingredients.

I occasionally break my no carb rule for a tray of 8-bit grilled goodness. Without trying to rip off a mainstream franchise, the burgers are better here. Like a true glutton I can devour a small size of loaded gems(comes with chilli beef, cheese sauce, bacon, pickle relish, grilled onions, jalapeños) and small onion rings with BBQ sauce. Condiments are a plenty here but the hero is the 8-bit sauce. Don’t visit and not try it! Washed it all down with a salted caramel milkshake and regretted it immediately. Ubër sweet. Shoulda saved those calories for dessert since they have a soft serve machine! The bee line to order usually overflows onto the public footpath but they punch out orders pretty swiftly. Simply put, 8-bit is the pride of Footscray.

I bit into my Double Dragon burger and my mind was blown. GODDAMNBESTBURGER I kept repeating to myself over and over again. Lots of oh my god, mmmmm, yeahhhh. Yep get to it, worth the trek for all you non-Westies like myself. It’s an oasis of laidback cool in the middle of no-where, with a kickin playlist and throwbacks to video games that the children of the 80s know so well. Most impressive is the food, hats off to the guys to execute incredibly delicious burgers & fries. I loved how the bacon was super crispy and stayed that way all throughout, the beef patties awesomely & perfectly charred on the outside and full of flavour. Rejoice all those tired of brioche’s rich & sweet ways, for the true bun has returned(soft & toasted). Great pickles, together an absolute joy to behold. We split the loaded Chilli Fries and yes they tasted like victory. Spicy jalepeno, gooey American cheese and seriously delicious Mexican spiced Chilli. And also some potato gems for old times sake(did not regret those were excellent). There was the salted caramel shake, it was pretty tame but hey don’t let that stop the good vibes. I will definitely be returning. Well done guys you are worth crossing the Bolte for. Also I love that King of Fighters is installed in the corners. Memories.

I am actually not even sure where to start, maybe with the fact that I trekked to footscray for burgers, maybe with the salted caramel milkshakes, maybe all the fries or the actual burgers themselves?!? Oh my gosh the delishiousness was a little over whelming, definitely worth a visit for all burger fans! Huge variety of burgers to choose from, different fries options, they even have potato gems!!! The bun was a perfect mix of soft and crunchy, the meat a perfect pink, bacon crisp to perfection, are you sensing the perfectness? Very busy but the staff are fast and attentive! Make the trip, it is worth it!

A real American burger tucked away in the heart of Footscray. The walls are decorated with framed pictures of duck hunt, SUPERNES and it has great atmosphere. The service was efficient and food came out quickly. We ordered the 8bit and bacon and cheese fries. My friend from LASAYS«the hamburger was da bomb, first bite… Delectable!» I will return when I’m ready to consume another unhealthy American burger. :)

A charming restaurant out in the scray. Love their concept and it’s been executed well! Seats fill up fast and admittedly there isn’t much of it. There’s a blank spot out back that could be an opportunity to add more seats. That aside that doesn’t seem to bother people and there’s always a line out the door for the eager beavers wanting takeaway! I absolutely love their packaging. Cutest things ever! Never thought I’d say a paper cup is cute! The burgers are huge! W had the 8bit(cheeseburger) and Goldenaxe(chicken burger) and we could barely finish them! And if you go for a milkshake don’t bother sharing — it’s that good :) they need to produce that shiz in bigger sizes…

100 percent American approved. Well, not entirely: I’ve yet to try anything besides the burger because I simply don’t have enough space in my tummy. The burgers are US style enormous here and packed with salad, pickles, cheese(and finally) plenty of sauce. It was practically dripping with ketchup, something that I love and a bit hard to find on Aussie burgers. I loved the little white boxes that the burgers were served in as well as the bright and shiny vibe of the place. They’ve got onion rings(huzzah!), chilli fries, shakes, and a fridge full of cream soda. Burgers are 8.50, which is a good deal, compared with Beatbox and Mr. Burger. But you know, its the Scray, we do things cheap and cheerful out here.
