1+0 stars for this place as that’s all it barely deserves! food — gross service — quick however inattentive menu — disappointing

When giving the star, I was trying to think if there’d be any situation where I’d go back, and there isn’t, hence the 1 star.(½ a star for quick service, another half for my fun fact below). Besides the menu having ¾ of the dishes lamb(including what looked like a lamb casserole being delivered to other tables, Chinese cuisine is clearly different in this neck of the Footscray woods), the skewers being covered in chilli flakes in what was a Mediterranean cross Indian skewer, and my dumplings falling apart, there was nothing memorable at all about this restaurant. Melbourne has too much other good dumplings(& even places with more than 6 of their titled items on the menu) & Asian food to bother here. Oh, I forgot the Ice Pear juice was pretty good(in a bottle so the only thing I can applaud is the purchaser). Fun Fact — they have cottonelle in the bathrooms!

We were on the hunt for dumplings. This place was one of the very few on offer in footscray. This was my pick. And boy, was it a bad pick(sorry girls!). Food was not good. Not good at all. Spring onion pancake — too doughy and thick. Dumplings — it’s ok but is prob one of the last out of my favourite dumplings list. Hokkien noodles — worse than food court. Lamb skewers — severely overcooked and hence realllllly tough and chewy(had to spit out my bite I couldn’t keep it down). Also really confused with the lamb skewer, the entire menu is asian but this lamb skewer tasted mediterranean. Also the menu is OBSESSED with lamb. 75−80% is lamb based. Also confused with the name of the place as I thought it would sell predominantly dumplings but there were only 6 items on the menu that were dumplings. Btw it appears that the self serve sauce and condiment table is not a self serve condiment table. As I went up to get us some vinegar and chilli for the dumplings daggers were shot at me by the waitresses. No table in that restaurant had any condiments already there so I don’t know what they expect! We pretty much kept eating out of necessity(ie. We were hungry!). But we didn’t finish any of the dishes as they didn’t sit well with us taste wise. Won’t be coming back. 1 star cos staff were nice!

Dumplings. Yes! Noodles. Please! This place is a-ok if you want the Australian version of Chinese fare. The pan-fried dumplings are good. I highly recommend the pork ones over the vegetarian option. The sizzling satay beef was delicious and the fried rice was a winner. Food didn’t appear in the blink of an eye. It came out hot, just the way I like it! Presentation was neat and appealing on the eye. The dining experience is a bit bleak. It’s cold inside and a little drafty. Service can be a bit chaotic, but nevertheless they were very friendly. A good choice if you want a table straight away.

I had heard that 1+1 dumpling noodles was worth try and I do love dumplings and noodles. So off I go to try somewhere new in Footscray. Go in and it is very quiet on a Friday night but this did not deter me. What did deter me was that we were given no service at all for 20 minutes when the restaurant was practically empty. Staff walked past and I tried to get their attention and had no luck, eventually we decided to go elsewhere so this is not a food review. As we left the staff said thanks for coming hope you enjoyed the food which confused me and I cannot say I will rush back to here in the near future.
