My wife and I visited this small, unassuming restaurant recently, and despite being seated at a table right next to the front door, we enjoyed it. The waiter was very friendly and immediately referred us to the specials of the day board, which had a nice variety of entrees, pastas, mains & desserts listed. We also expressed interest in a glass of red wine, which the waiter was happy to deliver almost immediately. My wife opted for the Minestrone soup while I order a penne pasta dish with crabmeat. In addition, we ordered a Caesar salad to share. The salad arrived shortly after ordering, complete with a nice dressing and anchovies. The dressing was not overpowering and we both enjoyed the freshness of the salad. Our additional orders arrived shortly thereafter. While the minestrone soup arrived very hot, my wife took her time and thoroughly enjoyed it as it cooled. My pasta dish was very tasty, nice to consume along with complementary fresh bread. We topped off our meal by sharing a gelato dish, with four flavors — chocolate, vanilla, mango & pistacio — all wonderful. I would have given this establishment a stronger rating if not for the high noise volume. It is a relatively small place, with lots of hard surfaces that reflect the noise of other patrons. While some diners may find this invigorating, we were distracted by the excessive noise and found it difficult to carry on a conversation at the same, small table.
