I’ve never before walked out of a florist feeling angry but I did today. Thee lady with the long blond hair needs a refresher in customer service! She was rude and condescending, oh and unhelpful too! I just wanted a small bunch of flowers but it seemed like an inconvenience to her and she wrapped them haphazardly. The flowers are certainly overpriced for the attitude you get with them. It isn’t my first time in that store but it’s certainly the last. Just to point out, my first experience wasn’t good either.

I live in the United States and placed an order to have some flowers delivered to a friend whose father passed away. This company was so incredibly wonderful, I requested a picture to be emailed to me because I wanted to see the arrangement before it was delivered and obviously, since i’m halfway across the globe, I couldn’t see them in person. Brenton, the Floral & Sales consultant was such a wonderful help and should I ever need to order flowers in Australia again, this will be the company I use!

My morning walk sometimes takes me past Vasette and the scent always tugs at my nostrils. I usually keep walking because, well, those cheese calories aren’t going to burn themselves off you know! But now and then when the house is looking a bit sad I venture inside to pick up something pretty. Our front are the cheap and cheerful options and plants, but it’s inside that the real magic(and the good smelling stuff) is. I love that the window display and the arrangements within the store changes regularly, with like-colours grouped together on each table. From massive arrangements, to posies and single stems of orchids, you can get just about everything here.

For over two decades Flowers Vasette has been an institution on Brunswick Street. It’s very white interior is offset by colourful flowers of pretty much every shape and size. Their signage above the store is also eye-catching as are their arrangements. What I really like about Flowers Vasette is that it has really great options irrespective of your budget. If you want to go all out with an incredible arrangement you can do that and spend a fortune. But there are also a number of arrangements that don’t break the bank too. Your best bet is to just go in and have a chat with one of the florists and tell them exactly what you want. If like me you don’t have the flower know how then you can’t go wrong this way.

Some people might say ‘a florist is a florist’ but this place really does stand out. After sipping on a cup of coffee or enjoying a scrumptious Breakfast, this place is unbeatable to come and visit. From the outside you can see a large flower on top of the yellow building, but once you walk past and glance in, your eyes can feast on the ‘green-house’ like interior. From wall-to-wall are covered with floral arrangements, both large and small. From its location and beautiful aspects you would assume that Vasette would be expensive but i’m happy to report it really isn’t. Take a gander through the fresh flowers out front and they shouldn’t set you back much. Arrangements however are a tad more, but i always find fun in arranging my own collective flowers from Vasette.

I love walking by Flowers Vasette. There is a lovely waft of floral scents, which is refreshing to the piss smell that has a tendency to occupy certain laneways in Fitzroy. Flowers Vasette has definitely moved floral arrangements into a league of its own creating not just a bouquet of flowers, but a carefully thought out and handcrafted arrangement fit for all those who are important in your life. They have the most beautiful flowers, costly at times, but beautiful none the less. I don’t buy flowers often, but I’ve purchased a few at Flowers Vasette and the service here is great and the staff quite knowledgeable. They assist you with matching different flowers and colours to create a bouquet that will suit your needs and more than please the person you’re giving the flowers to. I wanted something inexpensive so they helped me put together plum and yellow lilacs($ 30 — still a bit steep, but worth it). The best part is that I got a lot of stems so the bouquet looked quite full even though I was only using two different types of lilacs.

I hate to pull the«I’m a guy» card but buying flowers for people doesn’t come readily to my mind most days of the week. It’s lucky that I walk past Vasette so often because it not only reminds me to pick up a bunch every now and then for a friend of family member, but the quality of the plants and flowers and the great prices actually stop you and draw you inside. Getting a decent bunch of flowers for under $ 10 or $ 15 is near impossible in the city, but Vasette always have a range of flowers, well put together and displayed. Top florist — and it’s right there on Brunners St!

This is the type of place where simply being inside is a pleasure. If I need flowers or anyone I know does, there is no other option than Vasette. Every section of the store is covered with blooms, and at the moment there are some exquisite seasonal flowers including delphiniums(white, purple and blue), bluebells, freesias and hyacinths. The result of so many flowers in the space is a beautiful scent that greets you any day of the year. Vasette also have Australian and tropical blooms; it’s a relief to see a successful flower smith who isn’t limited by the traditional English garden varieties. Scarlet waratahs, delicate orchids and enormous crab claws jut out amongst the buckets, and you need not be worried about the quality. All the flowers are fresh, and in all my years of buying blooms I have never been disappointed. Expect great service and great advice. The staff are qualified and creatively passionate about working with their organic medium. They can put together a beautiful bouquet, or help with planning major events. Just stopping by and taking the time to smell the roses, or freesias, or snap dragons, or anything in this beautiful space, is a reward in itself.
