Those familiar with the Gannon name might wonder why I’m recommending such a store. Well I can console you in the fact that this store isn’t filled with just pretty but pricey furniture. If you have a bit of money to throw around, then by all means check out the beautiful crafted chairs, lounges and tables. They’re some of the most unique and comfortable I’ve experienced. If like most Fitzroyality you’re a bit short on cash just at the present cause like you just paid your rent and you have this awesome gig coming up on the weekend, you can still haunt the store for nice little knick-knacks to fill your shelves or interesting and sometimes superfluous utensils. There’s also a children’s area that deals in more traditional playthings. Take a trip down memory lane to that wooden box with cutouts into which you have to bash shapes. There’s even an updated version of the cash register — a toy whose origin continues perplex me… why would children need to play with a cash register if they have no concept of cash or registers? Take a peak, have a gander, and don’t feel too put off by some of the prices.
