This place is amazing! I had no idea it was completely vegie until I took a closer look at their menu. I’m from southern Cali, the hub of vegie/vegan places & this place blew me away. I love that the burgers are cooked like they’re supposed too be; nice & hot and slightly crispy. & they’re not just a boring boca or vegie patties. The little chicken nuggies had a great texture and so did the hot dogs. This is not a place for health conscious folk but deff the place when you need something hearty and delicious!

This is place is so good I ate here twice in one day. I’d eat here again today but unfortunately I don’t live in Australia. I’d eat there every day if I could. I’ve got some serious reflecting to do on my life choices.

Husband was desperate to try this out considering its claim as being the best burgers in the world(or something similar)…he had a mini burger as we had eaten already. I think it was the Indian one(the special there that month). I had a taste. Completely underwhelming. And he said my burgers are still the best(FTW) especially my buns(and he meant that in terms of the bread I make!!)…reasonably priced but lacking in flavour. Looked way better on paper. Wouldn’t bother going back.

I don’t get this place. At. All. I’m not a vegan, but I am open-minded when it comes to meat-free dining. But this place was just terrible. The«beef» burger tasted ultra-bland and just not good. The«chicken» burger tasted like bad fish, like actually fishy. And then I was thinking, OK, well at least they’re known for fries. The fries were bad to the point I only ate a few — mushy and didn’t taste fresh. Most of my veggie friends seem to like this place, but I give it zero stars will not try again.

My vegan brother got me onto Lord of the Fries. He made a beeline for the place when he visited Melbourne and he makes a beeline for the place every time he comes back to stay. As someone in the vegan hotdog biz, I’m reliably informed that they are the bomb when it comes to vegan hotdogs. I’ve tried on a few occasions myself, and while hotdogs have never been my thing, I had to admit these were tasty and the texture wasn’t too bad compared to my meat eating days(vego now). My favourite part of this LOTF is the free video game machine with unlimited plays. It has every conceivable version of an 80s video game that you could want — tetris, pacman etc. Miss 9 went ballistic when she saw it and I couldn’t drag her away long enough to eat her food. Ah, the joys of discovering ‘retro’ stuff you hitherto didn’t know exists. Certainly a healthier option than a lot of late night options on Brunswick Street, I definitely hit it up on the way home when I need a fastfood binge.

Ordered through the app — food was great — had the Big Mark vegan wholemeal with Jalapeños. Also had a munchbox with onion rings and nuggets and fries. All was absolutely delicious but took a long time to arrive — they were busy though. Definitely worth coming back too. Fries didn’t leave a greasy aftertaste — very impressive.

I still can’t believe it’s not beef! The spicy burger was fantastic(even when I had left it for half an hour before eating it) — lots of spice, which I love! The Mexican chips were okay. Service was great — and fairly quick as well. Will go back for sure.

Oh God. Oh delicious god. I’ve never been one to believe in god, but after trying Lord of the fries, I know that there is a higher power. Offering tasty vegetarian and vegan fast-food options(similar to what you’d find at your local burger joint), LOTF has an amazing range of burgers and condiments for every type of non-meat eater out there. I have personally sampled everything on their menu over their years and have never had one complaint, LOTF is as good as it gets(for me, anyways). My personally favourite is their Chicken Burger and LOTF nuggets. One thing that no one can go past(even my devout meat-eating friends) is their chips(or fries, whatever you ‘d like to call them). They have the most delectable chips i’ve ever tasted(with so many sauces too)! This is one of my favourite places to spend on my ‘guilt’ day!

The fries were delicious. I got them to take-away and they had an adorable little fork so I could eat as I walked and not get my hands dirty. Genius. Whether so good as to be called a deity of fries, that I don’t know, but I don’t really know how good those fries would have to be. Buuuut if I was stuck on an island after a plane crash with a bunch of annoying teenage boys, I’d be ok having to eat these all the time.

Hmmm, there’s something different about this Lord of the Fries… the ones in the city are all«hole-in-the-wall» arrangements where you line up, grab a cone of fries or a burger and walk away. This new branch in Fitzroy’s Brunswick Street, although quite small, has indoor seating. The décor is a bit like a little 1950s diner with booths along the wall, but instead of a jukebox they have one of those classic arcade game«cocktail» table cabinets(with unlimited free plays FTW!). And the food… it was about the third or fourth time I went to Lord of the Fries that I realised the reason their burgers tasted slightly«different» than my usual burger fare was because they were vegetarian! I like that they don’t make a big thing of it, though. The fries are truly delicious and the sauces so tasty and indulgent you can skip the next meal or two as even a small serve can be deceptively filling.
