Ladro is all about doing simple things exceptionally well. Our modern take on traditional Italian fare is renown for using the highest quality ingredients and providing friendly attentive service. With a focus on sustainability, our wood-fire oven produces some of the finest pizza outside of Italy. Beyond pizza, we serve traditional Italian wood oven arrosto, hand made pasta and a primi piatti menu that may include local sustainable calamari, house pickles or amazing bufala. Maybe finish with our famous bomboloni donuts and a limoncello. Dine early with the kids, feast for hours with friends or drop in for a cheeky late night negroni. And you may not know, we keep our own beehives and love events… at your place or ours… It’s part of our heritage!
History
Established in 2003.
Opening in 2003, Ladro was given the gong of The Age Good Food Guides ‘Best New Restaurant’ and has maintained a ‘hat’ from 2004-11. One of the first restaurants to kick off the pizza revolution in Melbourne Ladro continues to be at the fore of the dining scene in Melbourne.
A second outpost was opened in 2010 in Greville St Prahran by original founding owners Sean Kierce and Ingrid Langtry, both designers with a love of Italian food + wine. Both still work hands on in the business.
