I hadn’t really given this place a thought until quite recently to be honest. And given that my gf used to live around the corner and that I love tattoos, that’s kinda strange. In my never-ending quest for more ink, I’ve offered my skin to a couple of emerging tattooists recently, and I’ve just heard one of these good folk has scored an apprenticeship at Advanced Art. The quality of this bloke’s work is super, given that he’s only starting out, and he tells me the quality here is of a high standard. There’s often a clutch of motor bikes parked outside Advanced Art, which for the uninitiated can be a little off putting. Inside though, these folk are friendly and professional and the joint has an über-clean feel to it, which is obviously important these days. If you go there for a look, make sure you check out the ancient TAB signage on the adjacent façade — you don’t get colour combos like that any more.
