Came here on a Friday night in a group of two adults and one baby. Fit out is nice and caters well for families as it provides baby seats and child friendly cutlery. In terms of pram space there isn’t much room. Restaurant seats about 40 people total. In terms of privacy there isn’t much as the tables are right next to each other. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. I ordered the octopus with rice and spicy tofu soup($ 20). Prior to the main coming out there were about 8 appetiser dishes, which is usual for Korean restaurants. Despite the restaurant being packed, the food came out within 15 minutes. The spicy tofu soup was mild(although I can take a bit of spice) and tasted amazing with a raw egg cracked on top of it. The octopus was spicy and comprised of octopus and vegetables in a spicy sauce. The octopus tasted nice and tender and the spiciness was mild. The rice was served separately in a Clayton, with the rice at the bottom tasting a little harder as is the effect of claypot rice. My only issue is that there could have been more octopus. Overall the food was filling and the atmosphere enjoyable. A reassuring sign as to its authenticity is found in the fact that the majority of patrons are Korean. The restaurant is usually packed so I would advise coming early. I am not sure if they accept reservations. Another tip is that parking is limited around the Genesis building on Beecroft Road and Rawson Street so I would advise parking at Coles, which is located across the restaurant on Rawson Street.

If it’s Korean and I’m rating it 4 or more stars… it’s worth a visit. My Korean missus was keen to come back here after having a great Tofu soup meal here a while ago. The only problem is that its hard to locate on Google or anywhere using the name you think it is(Book Chang Dong = BCD). The missus goes for Kimchi Tofu Soup($ 16/$ 19, depending on which rice you have); she loved it so much this has become her default order. I had their spicy galbi(beef short rib) and the chilli power was 9⁄10. This was actually TOOHOT for me… since this visit I’ve moved onto the LA Galbi(a safer option) which comes with a small soup. Eating in house is best, but they do do takeaway(which I may have picked up a few too many times when I couldn’t be bothered to cook dinner myself).

For some reason, Korean food in Sydney doesn’t offer much when it comes to sundubu jjigae, a hot stew filled with tofu and other goodies. Why? I don’t know… but these restaurants really need to step up their game! Why do you have to go all the way out to Epping to get a legitimate bowl of sundubu? Who knows… but it’s a travesty. I’m not even a big sundubu fan but the stuff here is pretty damn good. Came with a group of people and I ordered the pork sundubu with special rice for around $ 19. Others ordered the kimchee sundubu and bulgogi sundubu. It was pretty good and super filling. I was going to order the kalbi+sundubu combo but unfortunately you can’t choose the type of sundubu with that combo, default is mushroom. We also ordered seafood pancake and that was plenty of food for everyone. Only gripe here is it’s out of the way and the sundubu can take some time to come, but it’s well worth the wait.
