We were greeted with a sleek industrial design ambiance as we walked in. The night is still young but the restaurant is already pretty full. The dining area surrounds the open plan kitchen. We sat at the large cast iron communal table, dining under the warm glow of giant hanging light globes and surrounded by black walls adorned with large photos. The staff looked happy — that’s always a good sign. The meal was simple but tastefully done. We ordered a full rack of ribs and the good ol’ surf&turf. The ribs were succulent and juicy — went really well with the smokey bbq sauce. The surf & turf was equally good — the rib eye was juicy and paired well with the Victorian Shiraz we ordered. We were too full to try the dessert — they looked really nice tho! They have a minimalist wine list featuring a selection of aussie and NZ wines. If you’re feeling more adventurous, there’s a BWS next door and it’s BYO so you can drink to your hearts content! I like that the owners have one fixed price for all alcoholic drinks — all $ 7 per glass. Not too pricey if you want to opt for a variety of wine to pair with your meal.
