A mystical icon of Edgecliff which has been admired by commuters for over 20 years. French Artist Bruno Butot has maintained and tweaked his painting of «Oucha» a stylised figure with her back to the viewer and a cat at her feet. Dutot, a fan of variations on his own artwork, has had his artwork reworked over 300 times, even continuing by a colleague when Dutot was visiting France. Oucha’s dress changes colour, and style as he stylises her with a peace doves or a love heart, and even different political slogans, but always in praise of beauty and support of peace, alongside her black cat. If you’re around the area, stop and take in the history and mystical powers that are trapped within this beautiful ever changing work of street art.
