It’s pretty much the only café within cooee of beautiful Queens Gardens /WACA. It opens early, but closes early too(3.30pm) and I don’t think it’s open weekends. Nice fresh rolls and salads, and limited selection of hot dishes. Service is pleasant and the coffee isn’t bad, so worth stopping in if you have time to kill, or need a quick fix!

Busy café on the edge of the CBD. massive line for a fairly ordinary coffee(perhaps only because they open earlier than everyone else?). $ 10 for poached eggs and grilled tomatoes on toast. Great cheap breakfast to start the day but nothing fancy.

Being one of only a handful of cafes in the area, the lovely staff at E-Sense Café are constantly flat out making coffee. The range of food is pretty limited, but the rice paper rolls with dipping sauce and the vegetable frittata are lunchtime favourites of mine!

I’ve given them four stars for their range of food and lovely service. E-Sense has a great range of lunch offers(try their chicken crêpe, frittata, Vietnamese spring rolls or daily changing salads) which are good value and will please most people. The staff are lovely, especially the owner(?) on the till and the guy who makes the coffee. They are always friendly and willing to have a chat. Now to the coffee… I’ve tried a lot of coffee in the block around my office and they only rate 2nd or 3rd of a small pool. Unfortunately their coffee is more expensive than the best coffee place, but, you can pretty much get a coffee straight away here. Lucky if you can get a muffin here and if you can they don’t look too great. At the end of the day, the staff are lovely and attentive and they are close to my office so I’ll continue to visit frequently.
