Adorable shop on George St. Succulents in abundance, homewares, clothes and giftware. They stock local brands like Clean Slate and also Aussie made Kester Black and Elk. The owner is super friendly and happy to help you find the perfect gift.

The William Top of East Freo. A gorgeous homewares store straight out of the pages of Frankie magazine. Beneath the bunting lies pastel triangle print throw rugs, hand-made plates and cups, Elk jewellery, women’s clothes, shoes and much more. My favourite part of the store was the selection of original prints from local graphic designers. Some gorgeous posters, and blank gift cards with uniquely WA imagery — the Dingo Flour print is on my wish list! A great place to find a girly gift, though guys will warm to the homewares selection too.

Willow and the Bowerbird isn’t your standard gift shop, there are many wonderful things in there I’d never seen before. I went there specifically for a pair of Saltwater Sandals as they are one of 2 shops in Perth that stock them. The lovely shopkeep helped me find what I needed but didn’t stand over me whilst I tried them on which I really appreciated. I even ordered another pair in a different colour that they didn’t have in stock, which was a breeze. Can’t wait for them to come in so I can go back. My partner also picked up some very cute robot/monster magnets which he couldn’t leave without.

Willow & The Bowerbird is a little jewel and probably one of my favourite places in Perth. The vintage looking store with its large white rimmed windows, wooden detailed trim doors, dark wooden floorboards and natural light filled space oozes creativity and quirkiness. The in store merchandising is also what gives it so much charm and character, the table created using recycled crates, the shelves made out of planks of wood and old ladders along with the vintage cabinets all contribute to make Willow & The Bowerbird more than just a retail space. The first part of the store is filled with pretty cards, quirky bags, funky badges beautifully colour coordinated crockery and homewares. As you proceed towards the end of the store vintage dressers hold sweet smelling candles, sumptuous beauty products and hanging racks are filled with delicate and soft dainty clothing in earthy tones and hues of greys. This part of the store is in holiday mode with parasols mounted on the windows, striped deck chairs, large glass bottles and woven baskets filling the spaces. Truly a wonderful and charming store, the owner is also extremely friendly and helpful. If you love anything beautiful and quirky you are sure to love Willow & The Bowerbird.

On the corner of East Fremantle’s most loved strip sits Willow and the Bowerbird. There’s a bunch of independent boutiques on offer in Fremantle, but this one has a range of stock on offer that you won’t find elsewhere. Housed with a tiny corner store brimming with natural sunlight, polished wooden floor boards and a minimalistic interior, the premises provide a calming atmosphere to mull over their range of gift-worthy products. Rather than supplying the usual vintage or indie-style bric-à-brac so many stores already offer, Willow provides a range of home wares, children’s clothing, hand bags, stationary and body products that are lovingly made by those with an eye for detail, craftsmanship and unique staples. It really is worth a visit outside of the Fremantle CBD if you’re after something different from the usual Fremantle oddities.
