Video Ezy

I was devastated when my favourite video store in Carine closed down because it required me to turn to Video Ezy, the store that charges you to watch a frozen screen. Nothing drives me more insane then getting my hopes up to watch an exciting movie than for it to skip every couple of minutes or stop playing 5 minutes before the end. I swear that no other video store is as crap as Duncraig Video Ezy; on one particular occasion that I rented a movie (before I had my licence) I walked down with a friend to rent it out, only to find when I got home it was all scratchy. We called up to ask if they had any other copies, unfortunately they didn’t so they suggested we bring it down to be cleaned. So off we went, walking down the street to have the DVD cleaned; what a waste of time, the quality was no better when we walked home. Anxious to watch a movie as we had nothing better to do, we decided to get something else out, after paying again we got home and our different DVD had the same problem. That is enough, I refuse to get movies from Duncraig Video Ezy, they can suck on my $ 4.50 over due charge!

Do you want to know why people download movies illegally? Because video store DVDs are unwatchable. Sure, some people just don’t want to pay the money, preferring instead to save their precious seven dollars for a rainy day. But in the main I am convinced that Hollywood has the video stores and their lax penalties for their disc-​trashing customers to blame. We’ve all but stopped going to Video Ezy except in the direst of circumstances. Last time we went there five out of five of the movies we hired contained unwatchable passages. We haven’t started downloading movies illegally as a result, of course. We’ve just stopped watching movies at home and have started doing other things. Did you know they’re still printing books? I know. It’s incredible.
Don’t get me wrong. This store has a decent selection, not least of television shows, but it’s hard to get excited about watching anything that will probably spend a good twenty-​five per cent of its running time jumping about all over the place. Video killed the radio star, and then it killed itself.
