Love the deli section. However, had big chunks of broken off plastic in one of their meat tubs the other day. Called to let them know and didn’t even get a sorry, or any level of shock. They didn’t care. Nearly choked on one but you know, whatever.

I discovered George’s a couple of years ago but didn’t frequent it much as I had found the quality disappointing. Recently I went back and I am pleased that i did, the quality has improved greatly. The fruit and veg which sits outside is still past it’s best but inside it is of a fantastic quality. You can get a wide range of fruit and vegetables and some items which I have never seen before e. g bertolli beans, taro. There is also a deli section at the back of the store and I am seriously in love with their marinated feta. They usually have 3 different types in the cabinet and all are delicious in salads. There are also a large variety of olives, I haven’t tried them as I am not an olive fan but the variety must surely be a winner. There also seems to be every type of cheese on the market for sale. Market day where fruit and veg is marked down greatly is on a thursday but prepare for crowds. I usually avoid market day as I think the product quality isn’t as good as the remainder of the week. Prices the rest of the week still beat large chain supermarkets and the produce lasts longer. There is an off road car park at the front of the store. Spaces are limited and it can be tight to reverse out of.

The deli can’t be beat but the fruit and veg leaves much to be desired.
