Loved the authentic Italian food, creative cocktails and cosy atmosphere. The boys who run Fiore are also authentic Italian, and they serve up some traditional style dishes they had as children. The menu is varied, with different specials throughout the week. For example at the moment Thursday is mussel night and they offer a special of black mussels, bruschetta & a glass of wine for $ 30pp. We checked this out last week and the mussels were just beautiful. Definitely worth a trip to check it out, it’s a great find for the inner city.

A rainy night in Sydney. Humidity is off the Richter and my afro is swaying in the wind and glistening with the warm, greasy moisture of summer. But something crackles in the air, and going home ain’t an option. Just next to Pocket Bar, Fiore is small, bright, and pumping with action. Long-haired Italian waiters with smiles like the sun bustle this way and that toting mussels, exotic pasta, and a swordfish carpaccio that I wanted to take home and make an honest woman out of. The Sav Blanc I cooled down with was in a giant wine glass and must have been a pint of wine, it was huge. Love a generous fill, aw-rite. I wanted to go join whichever table had the trays of grappa(limoncello? One of the two) headed for it. Next time.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the brunch here. They just opened recently and wanted to check it out, and left feeling a bit disappointed. The coffee was so awful I couldn’t even finish it… and I don’t even consider myself THAT much of a coffee snob. Breakfast was okay, but ordinary and limited options. I wouldn’t come back for just that again. It is a great location, and the staff seemed lovely. I’m under the impression they are probably more of a dinner venue rather than café? So terrible first impressions, but could possibly be talked into trying it once more one evening.
