It seemed a little out of place but gave the Banh Mi a go! It wasn’t bad. A little westernised but still tasty. The only thing I’d like changed is the price tag. I understand that margins need to be made given the potential high rent due to location. but maaaaaan $ 5 or $ 6 min. for yeast, some salad and slices of meat… Come on. But I guess these are the times. I remember when bread rolls like these only costed $ 2. and they were known as the $ 2 Vietnamese rolls. Anyway I digress… the roll could b more crunchy. everything else was good.

I really like this joint for a quick and very cheap sandwich. The place can get very busy and the girls are not really friendly but who cares you can get this yummy healthy roll for just $ 5.

Got one of those Vietnamese rolls for about $ 6. Got chicken and added one piece of pork and that upted it from $ 5 to $ 6. The girl wasn’t very friendly. I said all veggies except onion, but she didn’t even put everything. I had to keep asking her to add things. But in the end the sandwich was tasty and cheap.

At the northern entrance to the Cronulla open-air shopping mall, you will find the Cronulla Bakehouse. This is an ordinary bakery by most people’s standards, but a lack of healthy lunch options and the queues of people out the door piqued my interest. The reason for the queue was cheap Vietnamese pork rolls. A standard option in places like Marrickville and Campsie, this Vietnamese Bakery in Cronulla is doing a roaring trade in the simple sandwich. The price and portion size are the two outstanding factors, just $ 5 for a pork and salad roll or chicken and salad roll. The pork is an acquired taste, with three types of processed pork meat, salad including shallot and coriander, and sauce including liver paste and sweet chilli sauce. It is quite tasty, but you need to be prepared for it! The chicken salad roll is for the faint hearted, and there is nothing better than fresh ingredients on a fresh bread roll. The final recommendation comes from the local cops lining up to get lunch. Wherever the cops are eating, you can be sure that the food is good.
