It is the closest pub to the mcg, hisense arena, rod laver, AAMI park and directly across from Richmond station what could go wrong? The music can be loud at times, however it is a snug little pub with a good range of booze. I do recommend the rum espresso martini if youre looking to pep up before a gig or sporting match.

Best vibe is always after the footy, cricket or grand final day. Holliava used to be my 50 metre from home local. It’s alright. During the week can be incredibly quiet, so they do some really cheap happy hour specials, if you feel like a sneaky tipple during the week.

This is a great looking venue, it has a great feel. The drinks are average price but I come here a lot. Great for a casual night out with mates having a drink. Nice atmosphere that is just around the corner from everywhere. Definitely check it out.

I came here for the first time last night for a couple of drinks after dinner but I didn’t put two and two together that it would be full of sports fans for the recent win of Melbourne Victory. This trendy nightspot is in the perfect location for a couple of pre or post(sports of all kinds or concert) drinks, right next to all the arenas and within a stones through of Richmond Station. We were lucky enough to get a row of seats next to the Swan St entrance underneath my favourite feature of this place, the garage style door. Scattered through Holliava are little nooks that a bunch of mates can sit down and have a couple of drinks. The music was just loud enough to still here each other talking which is always a good thing.

A great atmosphere to kick back and enjoy cocktails, wine and international beers and great pre and post drinks venue if you are heading out in the city or attending a match at the MCG/Concert at Rod Laver. Venture inside the quite lounge area and enjoy good company around the fireplace or head into the covered beer garden which offers a relaxed ambience.

An older friend of mine recently told me she used to be «one of those Holliava girls». Apparently this was THE Richmond venue a few years back, and while it’s still going strong it might be past its glory days. I always head here before seeing a gig at Rod Laver or Hisense as it is perfectly located opposite Richmond train station and only a short walk away from the arenas. It has a quite pleasant back courtyard and also a really great front area where, on a good day, the front windows are opened up — perfect for people-watching. The bar is fully stocked but really TINY, so even if there are only 4 people waiting for a drink you’ll still be pushed to the back of the room. I doubt I would come here without the added bonus of going to see Gaga afterwards, but it’s convenient location will always bring me here a couple of times a year.
