Ave Cucina & Café in leafy Eva St, Coorparoo is a quaint little café that has been around for a while now; one that we’ve always wanted to try, serving food with an Italian & Middle Eastern influence. As soon as we walked in, the smell of heavenly coffee filled the room, & we noticed the beautiful interior of the café, which was very inviting & we immediately felt at home due to it’s relaxed setting. We ordered: 1) Open chicken panino, grilled chicken, crispy bacon, haloumi, tomato, avocado, rocket, house aioli, shaved provoloni cheese($ 17). 2) Lebanese breakfast potatoes, & messy eggs, labne, cucumber, olive salads, pickels, zaatar bread($ 17) + extra mushrooms($ 4). Both dishes were so delicious, we could’ve had another serving! Coffee is by DiBella using the Modena blend. A blend that is smooth, & not bitter. Overall, the service was excellent, food & coffee was great, so we would definitely come back, & try some of the other delicious dishes on offer. It’s really nice to experience little gems like this in the ‘burbs. It’s child & family friendly being next to a child care centre, & a very comfortable atmosphere. Bless, All day menus!(Ave Cucina’s is 7:30 — 2pm).

Scrumdiddlyicious!!! Yes siree Bob, this place is the cats whiskers!!! Have just been blown away by how good this food was. Popped in for breakfast on a weekday and had no problems getting a table at around 8am. I had the ‘vege delight’ and my friend had the ‘winter french toast’. Both meals were exceptional. Filling but not stodgy. I couldn’t believe how easily it all went down even though it looked huge on first inspection! Lovely service staff. Friendly and efficient. Comfortable interior. Great coffee and freshly squeezed juices as well. A real treat. We’ll definitely be going back for more of this goodness :)

Dear beautiful waiter boy, if I am waiting patiently to be seated where the«please wait to be seated» sign is, your first assumption should not be that I am here for takeaway coffee. Sometimes it can be hard enough going on solo flights; I don’t need you to make me feel even more uncomfortable about it. I’m glad we got over that hiccup soon enough, though, because my morning at Ave was otherwise lovely, including the service that followed from all the lovely gents there(including yourself, beautiful waiter boy). My breakfast(thank you for having an all-day breakfast menu! THISISIMPORTANTTOME!) was ultimately delicious, as avocado on toast should be, and the plentiful drizzling of balsamic made me happy in my heart. True, it was a breakfast that my mum would hate me paying $ 14 for because it would be easily constructible at home, but here’s the thing… I didn’t have to go to the effort of constructing it. You did that for me. Plus, it being a quite literal stack, I ALSO got to relish knocking it over. I’d easily pay $ 14 for that joy again any day. The coffee was nice and smooth, but definitely not strong. I regret not going for a banana smoothie now, having read Teags’ review. Plentiful parking onsite but try not to time your visits with those of the gym mum brigade. The park was chockas at 10am on a Wednesday but when I left at 11am there were ample vacant spots, so go figure. Ave have just recently begun doing a dinner shift on Friday and Saturday nights, too, and with their tasty Sicilian-slanted menu, it would definitely be worth checking out.

Yes, yes, YES! Ave, you outdid yourself on my recent visit for breakfast with some friends. I cannot rave more about our experience… but I’m going to anyway! Atmosphere– relaxed, local and friendly. Coffee– smooth, rich and perfect. Food– delicious, reasonable, hugely portioned and clearly made with love. One of the most wonderful things was that we sat down at 9am and didn’t leave until 12pm. Not once were we pestered or asked if we wanted the bill. We were left to eat, catch up on conversation, drink caffeine and be merry. It’s so rare that you find a great brekky place that doesn’t get people in, feed them, then get them to leave. Ave is worth the trip to the eastern burbs. I will most definitely be back again… and again.
