Being a Monday I decided to head to Oriental Wok for lunch. Have always had great food from there and again I wasn’t disappointed. Lunchtime specials are fantastic. Prices are $ 8 and $ 9. Today I got: Honey Chicken and plain rice and a few veggies for $ 8 And a Hokkien Mee for my daughter for $ 9 The food was extremely tasty. The honey chicken was crispy, just what I felt like. And the Hokkien Mee was perfect and not too dry or too soupy, lots of noodles, beef and veggies. Great prices and will be heading there to get food at lunchtime for when I am working night shift.

Even though the name might sound fancy & gives you an impression of moderate range asian eat-out; but in reality this is just a takeaway joint with may be provision of couple of tables to dine in. Being close to my home I have been there thrice, with first being a pleasant experience as I tried taking time tasted menu of a noodle and some chicken dish. I didn’t rated the food highly but being I was hungry, the food was average and satisfied me for the time being. Second visit — tried a noodle and a pork dish. Was very disappointed. The BBQ Pork Ribs is the most disgusting pork dish that you could ever imagine to have. I was repelled and never tried visiting the joint again for months. Third time — few months later my memory failed me and again I ended up taking another takeaway on a Friday night. Ordered a mixed stir-fried noodles and Chilly Pork this time. To my utter disgust, the chilly pork tasted exactly the same as BBQ Pork ribs I took months back. The memories came flushing back and there were no chilliness or porkiness in that pork. Its again the most disgusting dish. To add to that the stir fried noodles was just a oily greasy noodles soaked in sauce instead of any stir fried. Super disgusting; my wife failed to take more than a single bite. Me more conscious of the amount spend, gulped few bites but could not fight any longer and both dishes landed in my dustbin. Great value for money and a very big menu to choose from. They have a number of combo packs that make selecting the dishes that would go well together a bit easier. Most times when I’ve been there other customers are keen to tell me how good the place is and make comments like«we used to live down the road but moved, we still come here for their meals», that is the kind of impression this place makes on people.
