Literally tucked under some stairs on a small side-street in Collingwood, this lovely little sandwich shop and café is perfect for that lunch time rush of office workers. Visiting my girlfriend at work, I was hungry and I was told to check out Tiny and, «look for the yellow door.» I don’t think I would’ve found it if it wasn’t for the plants on the footpath in yellow pots, along with a little yellow flag hanging out. The location is so much, three really is a crowd. The two lovely workers know the crowd that frequents their café, and it’s nothing more than a camp stove, oven and a sink. But out of the little Harry Potter-esque kitchen comes amazing concotions. I had a pulled pork sammie with an ANZAC biscuit for dessert. The bread was dense, but not heavy. The amount of yeast was perfect for keeping the pulled pork together, and the aioli from not leaking/dropping out between the slices. The pulled pork itself was nice and tender, but a little on the dry side… not oozing fluids like a country BBQ. The aioli and leafy greens were a great complimentary, and overall I’m not complaining. As a sneaky dessert, the ANZAC biscuit was perfect. Crunchy without being not hard or soft, and the oats were the prominent flavour. Looking for a tiny lunch break? Just look for the«tiny» yellow door on Cromwell street.
