Our passion is always to make you look as fabulous as you possibly can — taking into consideration complexion, personality, facial features, personal style, profession and, of course, good vision.

Our eyewear is hand-​picked from the best designs in the world — including our own unique and colourful designs, which we custom make in colours and patterns exclusively for you.

We provide a full optical service — including bulk-​billed eye testing and fit the latest technology lenses for thinner, lighter appearance — and we specialise in multifocal lenses.

Our store is a fun and relaxed environment with good music, great service and excellent espresso!

History

Established in 1986.

Owner, Michelle Guthrie started iSpex to offer Melburnians better choices in fabulous eyewear. Today customers come from all over Australia and even overseas, for the sensational choices in eyewear and the specialised, customer — service.

iSpex is one of the few independents left in Melbourne that is not associated with any global franchise or bulk-​buying group. It is 100% Australian owned — and supports Australian design and manufacture.

Their own funky designs are hand made in Australia using organic materials.

iSpex has long been known as that ‘funky spex shop’, so in the year 2000, Michelle registered the name iSpex Funky Spex.
