Such a great place– Indian tapas… such a great concept. The food is delicious, I always order the vegetarian platter. Enough to fill up 2, even 2 big boys with a very healthy appetite! Now, I know it’s not vegetarian but the spinach tikka is a must! Along with a bottle of wine… Dessert. leave it, save room for more tapas options!

Love, love, love this place! I was very pleased when I found it. Had a veg/fish platter 4 tapas for $ 40. Absolute bargain. The garlic paneer is always delicious, spinach chicken is also a firm favourite. You can have the tapas with rice or naan. We always opt for the naan. Staff attentive and lovely. Suitable for a couple or larger parties. A south of the river must!

If I could give this place more stars, I would, I am in LOVE with this place. The coffee is seriously on another level, it’s so smooth and always made to perfection, I find it hard to stop at three each visit. The food is so.effing.delicious, the restaurant itself is trendy and comfortable and the staff treat you like a rockstar, they are so lovely. I can’t recommend the stuffed croissant enough. Be sure to order a side of mushrooms too, they are to die for! I live around a half an hour away and owe finding this place to my fiancé who is a daily regular as he works around the corner — so jealous! Have made a point of bringing family and friends here for coffee dates so they can fall in love too. My new fave!

My sister is in Love with this place. I was not 100% convinced though. we shared the Strawberry and Cream pancakes and a big breakfast with our nephew. The BB was tasty enough, I thought the portion size was a little small for the price. the hashbrowns and bacon were overcooked. the pancakes were very over cooked and quite chewy. I was not happy with them at all. I’m all for giving places a second chance, so hopefully next time the the bar will rise. the domestic between the workers didnt really set a nice mood either. very unprofessional and quite embarrassing.

The place is really cute and their Christmas tree is awesome — it’s baubles hanging from the roof at different lengths to make it look like a tree, such a fab idea! The food presentation was amazing. I had the blueberry pancakes. There were blueberries in the batter, on the top & between pancakes too. I also ordered ice cream on the side. They were quite thick and the ice cream made them easier to eat because they became starchy after awhile. The coffee looked beautiful and the cup and saucer were cute, they read, ‘coffee is my life.’ It was a bit bitter for my liking but I know lots of others prefer bitter coffee. The staff were friendly & called everyone darling. The menus weren’t located at the counter & it wasn’t clear if they did table service. There were several tables that were empty with dirty plates just sitting at them. When I got up to pay one woman was straightening another woman’s hair at the counter…

Dropped in for breakfast and got the impression that I have found this place during the quiet before the storm. There is a standard range for breakfast with seasonal additions to the menu. Today I had zucchini, potato and corn fritters with two beautifully poached eggs, spinach and a curry tomato relish. No greasy after taste and I’m feeling decidedly healthy after it. The décor is as Tomas F describes, industrial meets glam and it works. Breakfast tunes was a selection of DJ remixes which fits into this little place because it may be a café by day but at night it’s a small bar. This just may be THE place for locals to drink the night away and chase the hangover away the following morning. Staff are friendly and attentive in a chilled breakfast atmosphere. No pressure to decide quickly, order, eat, and leave which is a refreshing change from popular breakfast eateries around Perth. Although I do think with the redevelopment in Cockburn especially after the new home for the Dockers is built this is going to be one of the places to be seen at.

Excellent service and food perfectly compliments the modern interior design of the café and bar. As a first-timer I ordered a ‘Seasonal Fruit Salad’ while my friend ordered the ‘Waffles with ice-cream’. We were gladly surprised with the quality and presentation of the food — as basic as the dishes were. Nonetheless, I will be visiting this venue again, for breakfast and dinner. Definitely worth a shot!

Looks like a fairly new restaurant. Good serve of coffee. Breakfast was pretty good with a decent size /price ratio. Only downside was the bread was pretty average. A slice of commercial bread? Common on. You could do better than that. Would probably go well with a ciabatta or sourdough. But overall it’s a great lil joint with an attaching bar perfect for drinks on the weekend before heading in to town. Lovely and friendly staff. Oh and I love their waffles too! Nice and freshly made. Perfect Sunday branch.

An oasis in the depths of the concrete slabs of Cockburn Central, Café Royal would be the area’s best café even if there were actual competition for the title. An interesting industrial-meets-glam aesthetic makes for a nice space to hang out and the staff know how to make a mean latte. Their lunch menu is pretty standard café fare; I’ve just had their caesar wrap, which was pleasant enough(though next time I will remember to ask them to half the amount of mayo they drizzle on it). By night, this place converts into a small bar(in Cockburn! I know, right!?) and serves what looks like a very thorough selection of Indian dishes(though I’ve yet to try these). It gets a little busy around lunchtime, and if you come in at the wrong time it’s a bit of a sausagefest as the local construction workers have discovered how great it is, but you expect a good coffee shop to be busy and the staff handle the busy moments with panache. It’s nice to see a café like this done so well in the depths of Cockburn. Hopefully with the redevelopment of the area, it won’t be the only game in town for much longer.
